    I always use one at gigs, and am selling only because I have now bought the smaller version due to downsizing my cab.

    The website looks a little bit out of date, but go through it and you can customize with handle location, seam colour, amount of padding, pockets, logo, straps/flaps...

    I have one with foam padding and it worked out at £53.30 incl tax/p&p. They are made to order - website says 10-day turnaround, but mine was sent out after three days.

    Just when I think I understand chords...is this a b7-4-1 progression?

    What key would you say the end of the song is in?

    To me, the whole song never leaves the key of E. But if others hear it differently, then fair enough.

    Thanks, Gareth - what you said completely makes sense. I checked, and on my amp (which is a Streamliner, BTW) the DI is switchable between pre- and post-EQ, but either way it's always before the effects send.

    mic + pick-up

    I currently play with a pick-up which goes straight into an amp head, which drives my cab and also provides DI to the PA.

    I am considering adding a mic into the mix, and I'd like to be able to control the blend of mic/pick-up going to the on-stage amp without affecting the signal going to the PA. It is ok (in fact probably preferable for the sound engineer) for me to send two separate DI signals (pick-up + mic).

    I'd like the pick-up to remain going via the pre-amp before going to PA.

    The mic requires phantom power.

    I think the solution is to buy a DI box and some sort of mixing device (eg Boss LS-2, Samson S-mix, other suggestions?).



    Does that sounds about right, or have I missed something? Any other considerations?

    +1 for Thomann. I once ordered a double bass, which I assumed would come with cheap strings, so I also ordered at the same time a set of my favourite (at the time) strings, Spirocores. Unsolicitedly, Thomann emailed back to inform me that the stock strings on that particular bass were already Spirocores, and just wanted to confirm if I did indeed want an additional set. I was impressed by this level of proactive customer service which saved me £100+.

    This was purchased new in June, 2014. The colour is honeyburst, and it currently has an aftermarket "aged pearl" pickguard. The original black pickguard is also included in the sale.

    The bass is in very good condition: I have gone over it and found no dings or marks.

    Currently strung with Ernie Ball Slinky strings. (N.B. the photos below were taken when it had D'Addario Chromes.)

    The bathroom scales weight is 4.2kg (9lb 4oz).

    Bass is located in Wimbledon: collection (and try-out) is welcome. Or I could possibly deliver or meet half way, if you are in the south-east -- please PM to discuss. I also have a suitable box, so I can post within the UK for £10.
