  1. Well, I'm 5 7 & I don't have a problem with a 3/4, & I've got small hands too. If you want a trip to Herts for some lessons on a great bass & some knowledge about the ins & outs of the instrument, feel free to message me!
  2. Hey, Personal experience tells me that Acoustic image suck for double bass. I had a combo, light as a feather, with the 10 & downfiring 5 for a Double Bass & the thing couldn't handle it! Had it brought back from the states too. had to get shot of it, & glad I did! Ampeg, the Mutts Nutts!
  3. Take it quick! Mind you.............................. What area do you live in as you probably need it looked at, as there really are a few things that if they're wrong with it, you can scrap it !
  4. Well done, but it sounds like maybe you could do with some technique lessons for the cramping & how to avoid it, as there are plenty of tricks you can do!
  5. I've got a big front garden you could plough if that was the case, I really want to grow my own vegetables next year! Anyway, don't need the cover on the bass, just my techniques good enough (although maybe my goodlooks & cool hair help too)
  6. If you play it right, it can have a somewhat "moistening girl effect". I only know this as I've been told on many occasions that my playing technique has done that. Well, that said, I'm not gonna reveal my secret, or even brag, just to say I am indeed a "slapper".
  7. Hi Paul, I thank you for your time in your response & you're quite entitled to your "opinion" of course, although it might not have been put the most eloquent way! No one said I needed to shift her quickly, but it sounds to me like you just might no someone that would be happy to take her off my hands the 30 percent cheaper you quote. Anyway, that said, when the time is right & so is the person, Karma will take its natural course. Nice picture by the way, although I couldn't really see myself at this point having my photo taken with a bow! So, what bass, or basses do you play, & with what set-ups if i may be so inquisitive? Maybe you could be so kind as to pass me the details of the Vintage bass freak in Holland? Oh, forgot to mention, who says that those that want to buy 'that special bass' are waiting for Kings and Kays? I'm sure there are way more unusual & special basses out there!
  8. Do you know how to slap, if not, you're pretty buggered for Rockabilly!
  9. I could have sworn he asked for Rockabilly, but Demented Are Go, thats some of the most Psychobilly stuff you can get!!! P.S. Thats my bass teacher playing on that! Try some Carl Perkins or early Elvis (54-56)

  18. Hey Steve, If you've got a lot of patience you could always try & do it yourself, but good luck around the scroll, & take it from me, you're looking at a hell of a long & laborious task. Cost wise, it really depends on time, but don't expect it to be cheap!
  19. Hiya, I looked at the photos & I don't think you have a problem with the bridge, as it's only a slight warp. As for the soundpost, I don't know of any shops, but you should certainly not be charged more than £20 for a re-fit. It's best to loosen the strings off a bit as the soundpost has dropped. Hope that helps & good luck.
