I put together a board with cheap pedals a while back as a bit of an experiment. It had a Caline Orange Burst, a Valeton octaver and FET preamp, a Kokko compressor and reverb and a Sonicake chorus. They were all extremely good at what they did and the only one I sold was the octaver because I had another option and the price went a bit nuts on them. Wouldn't hesitate to gig any of them (in fact I have on multiple occasions).

I've pulled the trigger on a set of them (EXL160S). Sounds like they'll hopefully do the trick.

Anyone got any opinions on strings for short scale basses. I'm using an Ibanez Talman (probably has stock strings on it), but finding them a bit floppy. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have a couple of relatively expensive basses (Stingray and a vintage Tokai), but I now only gig with with a Harley Benton PB50 or and Ibanez Talman. My good stuff stays well away from drunken dancing pillocks these days and nobody seems to notice.
