1. Hey folks. Cos I'm a noob who has developed vintage fever I'm looking for your advice and recommendations on this P-Bass I saw http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-P-Bass-Precision-1965-vintage-bass-guitar-/350493409714?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item519b0901b2 Over priced I think . . . Seems genuinely original (apart from the re-fret, re-finish and replacement pot stated by the seller) What are your thoughts? Cheers very much for your time. Kelso
 2. After much deliberation (and after talking at length with a local luthier) I've decided to leave the tele as she is. She's in amazing condition for her age and I don't really want to tamper with the purity of the instrument. Instead of trying to change her I'm going to appreciate her for what she is (sounds like realtionship advice! Maybe I should stop trying to mod my girlfriend too!! . . . ) Thanks again for all your suggestions and I appreciate the responses. Cheers, Kelso
 3. Thank you all so much for your advice. It's alot to think about - still not sure what I'm going to do but it has been very helpful and interesting reading all your posts. Thanks again and I'll let you know how I get on! Kelso
 4. Hello! I recently bought a 72' tele bass (seth lover humbucker) and love it. Very playable and looks awesome. I noticed that someone else is selling a 72' tele bass with a coil tapped lover humbucker. This has got me thinking and I'm now considering whether or not to get mines coil tapped. What are peoples views on this? Is it worth getting done? I love the deep tone I get from the humbucker but can't see any harm in expanding my tone options. I guess my decision comes down to three things: 1. Will it really make all that much difference in regards to variety of tone? 2. My bass is in amazing condition and 100% original so would a coil tap decrease it's value and if so, is the process reversable? 3. Does anybody know of someone who could do this for me? I would be too scared of damaging the bass and pick up! I'm in scotland so would prefer someone reaseonably close. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Kelso
 5. Just bought one of these a few weeks ago (blonde version). One of the best necks I've ever played. I have an un-modified Lover humbucker though and I 'lover' that deep thumpy tone! . . . (sorry, couldn't resist the pun!) Great price too, total bargain. Good luck with the sale mate, have a bump on me! Kelso
 6.
well, there goes my commision!!! (kidding, of course) Glad you found a solution you like. Experimenting with strings can be an expensive business, so it's great when we try something new and like it at first try.
Haha! Yeah, sorry about that! Cheers
 7. Ended up stringing her with D'Addario super light mickel rounds and I'm getting a really nice warm tone. Flats would just be too muddy as the bass produces practically no high end. I guess you either love or hate the sound post 72' teles make . . . Personally I love it! Never owned a bass that produces such a fat, warm thump! One of the most playable basses I have played also - only second to my sandberg. Thanks again for your suggestions Kelso
 8. Thanks for the advice guys! Much appreciated Kelso
 9.
I'm a flats fan, but in my experience flats and a mudbucker Tele are not a good mix... there's just not enough definition.
Hmm . . . I think you could be right. The humbucker is very thumpy/muddy so maybe better I stick with nickel roundwounds. thanks for taking the time to reply. Kelso
 10.
D'arddario flats are very good IMO. although with tounfs, filtering off some high end and playing over the pickup does the trivk, depends what you what though.
Cheers man. Think I'm just going to have to experiment and see what works best for me. Thanks for replying Kelso
 11. Jamerson for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T1Xi8vyaDk Pure groove . . .
 12. Hey folks. I recently bought a 1972 Telecaster Bass from Si (username 0353203). I absolutely love this bass - the neck is deceptively fast, the pick up is thumping and it looks stunning. I currently play in a Soul/Motown band and I'm thinking about buying flats to string the tele. What do you think or do you have a better idea of how I might get that old school motown sound? (without purchasing a P-Bass! - I love the tele so much more!) Cheers, Kelso
 13. Just bought a 72 tele (blonde) from Si. Great guy to deal with. Bass was just as he advertised and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing it. No issues with the transaction at all. I would highly recommend him to anyone. cheers mate Kelso
 14. Cheers man, that's nice of you to say. It goes without saying that I'd highly recommend Si also. The bass is just as Si advertised it and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing it. He shipped it promptly and there were no issues at all during the transaction. Cheers Si, Kelso
I have a 78 P bass (fretless) and I would trade it for this..Not sure if you want a fretless, and also I live in Cyprus!
I PM'd you mate. Lovely looking bass but I'm after a fretted. If I was you I'd keep a hold of it - it's proper nice. Cheers for your interest though. Kelso

All suggestions considered. Cash supplement either way depending on year and model. Cheers, Kelso *no pics I'm afriad but trust me when I say it's in mint condition* Will try and get a hold of my girlfriends camera to post pics soon . . .
 17.
Well you are north and I'm south, would it just roll down the country? I may have sourced one now, if it falls through I'll try to work something out.
Haha! . . .
 18.
If this was the short scale version I'd have snatched your hand off! Still a great looking bass though. Very tempted.
Aye, it's a lovely looking thing. . . . Now sold to a good home Cheers, Kelso
 19.
Anyway of getting it to Kent?
No idea mate, could courier it at buyers expense? . . . Open to suggestions . . .

 21. Hofner solid body sunburst bass. Bought new around 4 months ago for £225 for use as a back up back up bass and has never ever been used. The only time I've played it was in the shop! I fear it will literally never get used unless someone buys it. Good looking, well built bass. Mint condition. £150. Pick up only - Edinburgh Here's a picture - only difference is the pick ups on my one are silver. 22.
Hey Roy, you took my advice! Good luck with the sale. I recommend you don't hang around in the for sale section too long it's too tempting. Gareth
Hey man! yeah, thanks for the suggestion - this place is quality. You're right though, need to get out of the for sale section! I already have my eye on a few bits and pieces that I most definitely cannot afford! Loving your amp by the way, used it at a gig on Saturday night and couldn't be happier. cheers man, Roy
