1. hey it weighs 8.59lbs or 3.9kg quite surprised at how light that actually is
 2. Hello BC's I'm selling my Yahama RBX375 (black 5 string) bass guitar only because I'm getting a brand spanking new 5'er in 2012 looking for £180 and that will cover delivery (I was going to put it in a hard case, however the bass I'm getting doesn't come with one ... so it's just going to be a soft case. It will be packed and boxed securely though). It also comes with the Alan Keys to adjust the action and neck. I may also consider trades, depending on what's offered. RBX 375 Features:

Alder body
Maple neck
Rosewood fingerboard
High-output humbuckers
Pickup blend
2-band active EQ
I purchased this only a few months ago as a starter / introduction to 5'ers. I wasn't expecting to get such an active bass for what I paid (£285 from my local guitar shop). it's light weight, easy to play and kicks out more sound and power than my Valenti (so maybe it's a 5 string Valenti I'm getting ) ... I am 100% confident that had I bought any of the other bass that were on sale at that price, I wouldn't have made the change to 5er's. I have replaced the hum-bucking pups with some Yamaha modified P bass pups (they are more like jazz pick ups to be honest). I got these from geoffbyrne here on BC and they really make a difference to the sound .. taken it to the next level even! it's in cracking condition and I has never been gigged .. only used it for a rehearsal and a recording session. there is a circular mark and scratch on the head stock which happened whilst putting on a dodgy batch of DR strings causing me to (somehow) scratch the paint??? but you can't notice this until you are really close up. it's just under the string on the head shot. anyone who wants to get into 5er's or wants a decent back up bass, then this is for you! I'm based in Bradford if anyone fancies coming along and having a look.
 3. £200 Inc postage ... there are a couple of nice jazz basses on here at the moment that I would like to get my hands on. so £200 Inc postage
 4. Ok, this is the last chance for people to get an amazing active 5 string bass for £220 Inc postage. or a decent active 4 string bass if it's not gone in 24 hours then I'm going to swap the pups and keep it
 5. anyone got ANYTHING to offer? £230 Inc postage or a decent trade
 6. anyone got any offers they want to make on this, try me
 7. anyone out there with a 4 string bass guitar of similar quality that they would like to trade for this 5 string? maybe even a lightweight cab? I'm going to Florida for 2 weeks as of the 28th Sept .. so it would be great to get something sorted before then!

 14.
If, at the end of the day, you can't get on with the humbucking pickups on that model, I'd be happy to swap you for a pair of Yamaha soapbars (P-type inside) which I have on my BB G5A. This can be quite bright & biting and are exactly the same size. G.
I played this bass for the first time through my cab & amp ... and I was blown away with the ouput level and the sound! for the price, it's stupidly good! I've been used to the Sadowsky & Valenti jazz sound (Aguilar & Nordy setup) and I would love to get as close to that as possible ... might not be an option though. with regards to your pickups geoffbyrne, you say it's "P-Type" inside ... what does that mean? Precission style pups in a soap bar? If I'm right, can you get J-Type?

 16.
Hmmm, Yamaha pups, IMO, are very very good. I think changing the pre-amp will improve the sound as much as should be necessary. I was looking at swapping the pre and the pups on my MIM jazz, but after fitting the J-East I really didnt feel the need to swap out the pups anymore. I would say, fit the OBP-1 and see how it is. I reckon you won't feel the need to buy new pups. Truckstop
hey, thanks for the quick reply I shall start with the preamp then! anyone selling an Aguilar OBP-1????
 17. hello all, I have just aquired a Yamaha RBX375 as I start to enter the world of 5 string bass guitars ... I thought that I would start cheaply, that way I don't lose out too much if it's not for me. so far, I have taked to a 5 string very nicely and I find myself wanting to spend silly money on getting a top quality 5 string (Sadowsky, Valenti etc). However, the Yamaha plays really well (after some initial set up) and I am wanting to explore the possibility of upgrading the electronics. I have searched bass chat and talk bass and it seems a small handful of people have had a crack at this .. however, no one seems to have posted what the result it ... problems encountered seem to be extremely small space for a preamp and over-sized Yamaha pickups. so, can anyone tell me / advise me on what you think I can do (or what you know I could do)? an Aguilar OBP-1 seems like the best option for pre, but I'm not sure on the pup abd which would fit? any help would be greatly appreciated. Luke
 18. what bass did you fit the Nordy to? might be getting this pup myself!
 19. amazing looking bass any idea on price and your location?
