Great looking 1976 Jazz. All original, bar the scratch plate and the thumb rest, which came out of my bits box. Pickups are dated '76 as are the pots etc, original chrome pickup and bridge covers including the mute. Finish is fabulous and deep, some very light belt rash on the rear and single small wear mark. The front is as the pictures, with a small wear mark where the peculiar metal scratch plate (which was fitted when I got her) has worn away the finish on the top horn a little where it fits. At some point the pickup cover has been fitted in the bridge pickup cover position, goodness knows why! so there is one extra lower screw hole in the body (see pic 6) and some wear where the bridge cover mounted to the body( again see pic 6), these are all covered by the bridge chrome cover. There are absolutely no other extra routs or screw holes. I have lots of pics of the nuts and bolts etc if folk want, just PM me for these and about any questions please. Obviously the scratch plate is not original and you would need to get hold of the correct one or not bother and leave it as is, but bar that and the thumb rest, either way she is an absolute stunner. Weight is 10lbs 2oz on my scales. The sound is sublime, with no electronics issues at all. Some pics and a price at [s]£1875 ono or trades plus cash[/s]. Price drop to £1775.Comes shipped insured for £20 and a hard case as pictured.
I'd take this over the '76, still got what looks like 70s pickup spacing on here for the funky sound (just out of interest can you confirm that's right?), and none of that yucky sunburst rubbish Bump for a serious bargain IMO, just wish I had the cash to metaphorically bite your hand off
Thanks, and yes I believe you are right on the pups.
Here's my 2p There's a million P-Bass copies out there ranging from £40 upwards. It's reasonable to ask which bass this came from.
It is what it is in the pictures there is no name on it other than the fake F decal, It's a copy. Any way i"m withdrawing it, I'm certainly not gonna be harassed over a few quid neck, whose worry is it any way if it doesn't sell? certainly no one's but mine. WITHDRAWN
I don't think there will be a single member of this forum who can't work out that this non-fender P neck came off a Pbass copy. If you were more up front about it's full origins I'm sure it will sell in a flash. As it stands it looks like you are being evasive by not answering the questions directly... and people would only question why someone would be that unhelpful. My 2p.
errrrr I say this is "NOT a Fender", I say this is a "Pbass copy" how can that be evasive, I'd rather you kept your 2p to yourself thankyou.

[s][/s]Lovely almost mint USA Jazz from 1983. 1 small ding underneath the lower horn, not through the paint and barely noticeable and certainly won't photograph. This is one of the rarer ones with the one piece and one ply scratch plate. The sound is all Fender, full, fat & silky and a delightfuly slim neck to play, very slight hairline crack by E Tuner may be just in the varnish, but been like that for ages and I can't get a clear photo. Usual scratch plate split by tone control screw, you can just make it out on picture 6. Just pointing out any slight negatives I can to be clear to all, Not a buckle rash in sight. All original and complete with high quality original Fender 4 latch hard case which fits like a glove.
Relax, I wasn't suggesting anything sinister - but the ad title says 'Fender Precision Neck F/S' and it's isn't. Not suggesting you're confused either - rather that's it's confusing to list it as one thing when it's not. I was getting all set to look at a Fender neck to buy and then I see it's not - that's the confusing part.
I'm relaxed, and title altered to avoid some confusion!
If it's not a Fender then what is it and isn't it a little confusing to list it as one?
I'm not confused Gareth the information supplied is quite clear IMO, the "F" mentioned is just to draw peeps who may be doing a Fender project's attention to the ad and nothing more sinister than that. Peace
