1. Beautiful Basses! It's a pity I didn't see the post earlier - Would have bought the Butterscotch one immediately!

Glad to be the buyer! Please dealing with you mate!
3. PM sent. how different does the bubinga sound from the default maple 4LX?
4. That is a wonderful looking bass! PJ #ftw! Is this still available for sale?
Price drop to.......£875.......an absolute bargain for a unique beautifully built instrument. I'll even bung a new set of strings on it.
5. BUMP! Incredibly low price for a great bass guitar! I own one and I cannot play any other 6 string because I am spoilt by the comfortable spacing on this one.
6. Perfect! Looks like a beautiful dream!
7. Oh man, would buy it in a flash if not for the 19mm spacing and 36" scale. All I can do is bump!
8. I have one of these Bump! It is an excellent Fender Jazz Bass. I have removed the ashtray pick-up cover from mine as well and the top half of the pickguard too.
9. Newly acquired (2nd hand) Euro LX4 with Zebra wood top. Pre-Amp modded to EMG BQC. Gold Knobs. First Spector, of a few more to follow, I think!
10. Thanks dc2009. Have no clue about Darkglass and definitely don't work for them! Darkandrew - I first learned about the tonepump from this video http://youtu.be/BGH7jFTqrD8 Also heard about the TW pick-ups but didn't know about the colour difference in the label. Thanks for the tip!
11. Wise folks of BassChat, I am glad to say that I joined the fortunate group of Spector owners here! I picked up a Euro 4 LX with Zebra wood top, from Ebay. The owner had added gold knobs and replaced the TonePump (included) with EMG BQC. I am very happy with the sound but the best part of this bass is it is the most instantly comfortable bass I have ever played! The design is simply brilliant. It is so much fun to play it simply because it is so easy to do so! Of course, now I should add another one with the default Maple top and TonePump to check how that sounds and also find out how easy the 5LX, Rebop and 6 string models are to play!

Wanted to find out what this might sound like and found this video http://youtu.be/zFxuWjWhQBc Must say I like the sound of it!
13. Didn't track this topic and came back to it only today! Thanks for the welcome folks!
14. Bump! I have the USA non-CS version - no epoxy. It is an amazing fretless bass - it is simplicity itself. I think it has a 62 jazz bass neck - slender and fast. The tone is definitive! As good a fretless Fender as you can get!

Wow! That has to be one of the fastest sales on this forum! Congrats!
16. Thanks to all the folks who leave feedback here.
17. Bought a Shuker Fretless 6 string from Pete and it was a pleasure dealing with him! Prompt and cordial communication. The bass was packed well beyond my expectations! An A1 BassChatter! Deal with complete confidence.
18. I have a SR506 (6-string) -not prestige- and after playing other 6 strings am realizing the Ibanez necks are the most comfortable to play! That 16.5mm spacing is golden! The Wenge-Bubinga-Mahogany combination also makes for a great tone. Everything gets an upgrade in the Prestige series! I think the 5006E would be my ideal 6 string bass. Bump for a wonderful bass!
19. I still can't believe the tone in that recording! And, the more I listen to it, the more I have to reiterate that it is a wonderful jazz recording. Bravo! I have a question about the dampers, how and why do you use them? I haven't seen those on any bass before.
20. Thanks for the tips and pointers folks! Looks like NT is the way to go. Still deciding between the 4 and 5. I have a feeling I will go with the 4LX (a lovely amber finish, 2007 make). If I like it enough, will consider a 5-er as well (there's a nice poplar top 5LX available that is quite expensive but looks great!).
21. Awesome bass and nice playing on the recording! Bump.
22. Hi to all the BassChatters out there! I have always been interested in the Spector basses and there are a few Euro models on sale here and on ebay. I would like some advice from the Spector veterans for making a wise choice. (I would like to add that I have two Fender Jazz basses of which one is fretless. I have one 6-string Ibanez SR-506 and am in the process of adding a fretless 6-string as well.) Option-1: Euro 4 LX - Like the P-J PUP combination and neck-through build. I would like to add a 4-string with 24 frets to my collection Option-2: Euro 4 Rebop - Cheaper and Bolt-on neck with some exotic top woods The first question is regarding the different woods in the LX vs Rebop. I have heard it said that the LX (with alder body and maple top) is more sweet sounding than the Rebop with exotic woods, especially zebrano. Also, the difference between thru-neck and BO - I would use the four string more for slapping, chordal and percussive style playing. I have seen video on YouTube illustrating the differences between the Ken Smith TN and BO models. Is it similar with the Spectors? Option-3: Euro 5 LX - Would like to add a 5-string to the arsenal and like it that these are Thru-Necks The PUPs on this one are the EMG Humbuckers. (To add to the twist one model is from 2001 and others from 2004 and 2007. From the pictures the 2001 model looks a little different. I checked with PJ at Spector and found that they have solid maple body wings, non shiny solid brass gold bridge, and probably Aguilar OBP-1 active tone controls.) Option-4: Euro 5 Rebop EX - Main difference are the exotic woods (zebrano) and the BO necks. I believe the PUPs and circuits are the same in both these models. My dilemmas at the moment: 1) Go for the 4-string or 5-string 2) Go for the NT or BO Thanks for any advice, anecdotes and comments! I have reached a stalemate in my mind with these choices! Thanks, Vic
23. Only trades or would you consider a sale as well? If so, how much? How old is this bass? Could you add some pictures of the actual bass? Thanks.
