1. Withdrawn - I've been playing it over the last couple of months and have decided its too good to go......for now :D

The summer sun must have affected my brain and prompted a price drop, now £1,650 :swoon: :D

For sale or trade is my original USA made Warrior Signature Custom 5 string. I've not seen another one either like it or to this level of spec. There are lots of lovely touches such as the inlaid "W" between the neck and the pick-up and the MOP along the edges of the headstock. Lovely bass, but I’m selling a few basses as I'm looking for a change……

I would give it a 9.5 / 10 for condition. No major dints or marks that I can see only some slight surface “swirls” which I couldn’t get to photograph!

Neck through laminate construction of maple and purple heart
String spacing at bridge 18mm
Nut width 48mm
Scale length 34”
Rosewood fretboard
Gold hardware
Ash body with an amazing spalted maple top.
Aguilar OBP3 preamp 9 volt - Vol (pull for passive), pan, 3 band EQ with 2 position mid selector switch.
Knurled knobs with MOP tops.
2 Bartolini pickups
Neutrik locking jack
Straploks
Edge fret markers and front MOP "blocks"
Weight 9.5lbs
I comes complete with fitted Warrior original hard case.

Trade wise I could be interested in are Fodera Emperor, Sadowsky M5.

My feedback links are in my signature below.

2. SOLD

For sale or trade is my original USA made Skjold '92 Custom 5 string. Lovely bass and I have enjoyed our time together but I’m looking for a change……

I would give it a 9.5 / 10 for condition. No dints or marks that I can see only some slight surface “scratches” which I couldn’t get to photograph!

5 piece bolt on neck laminate construction of maple and purple heart
String spacing at bridge currently 17mm (can be adjusted 16 to 18mm)
Nut width 48mm
Scale length 35”
Ebony fretboard
Black Hipshot hardware
Ash body with an amazing maple top. I don't know the technical term for it (flamed / curly etc.) but it sure is purdy and looks like caramel!
East/Skjold Preamp 9 volt - See the pic below for full explanation (its not a pic of my bass but explains the pre amp well).
Volume (pull passive mode)
Pan (4 position - neck, both parallel, both series, bridge)
Treble (cut / boost, pull for ultra hi frequency boost)
Mid (sweepable mids with cut / boost)
Bass (cut / boost)
Passive tone
2 Skjold dual coil pickups
Neutric locking jack
Edge fret markers
Weight 9lbs
It comes complete with fitted Skjold reinforced gig bag

New this would be about £3,600 plus import tax etc. Have a look at some of the Pete Skjolds work here: http://www.skjolddesign.com

Trade wise I'm pretty much sorted for basses at the moment but ones I could be interested in are Fodera Emperor, Mayones Jabba, JCR CM or ST, Sei Flamboyant etc. It would need to be a 5 string with active electronics, 24 frets and strangely enough I do like a highly figured wood top. :D

Looking for £1,650 plus shipping

3. ... after seeing the Youtube clip from Babicz, the contact points are the very small grub screws....The strings sit on a cam which sits in full contact with the bridge body not raised up on grub screws.

........ at flat out gig volumes with the drummer hammering away and two guitars blaring out with a singer, subtle nuances of bass tone are [s]kind of lost[/s] OBLITERATED if you get my drift...Amended for accuracy :)

'Yes, I can really tell you are using the ash bodied Stingray tonight as opposed to the alder one'.. Hmmmmm. - See note above....lol :)

Are Babicz bridges just snake oil or actually a real step forward as far as bass bridge design is concerned for the better ??

I have had a Babicz bridge on a couple of different basses (Fender 5 and Roscoe LG 5) and really like the design for their ease of adjustment and ability to lock the settings in place. As far as tonal differences, I couldn't detect any percievable difference when isolated in a quiet room......YMMV.....once the drummer had completed his 4 count.....not a chance! :)

4. Roger that Neepheid. If the operation is to be clandestine how are we "units" to identify ourselves? I propose the traditional secret signal of purchasing refreshments then nonchalently moving in a stageward direction for final location in front of the low frequency oscillation supplier. This, along with the requisite concentrated gazing at aforementioned equipment should afford those "units in the know" to be able to identify themselve to each other using the universal "noddin' of't heid" and hushed passwords "Is that a Victory?" :)

5. Hi Alexandre,

Lovely looking bass :) (I must resist!! :( ) It might help your advert if you say where you are based so people can estimate shipping / pick-up costs. Also does it come with a hard case? As you are a new member do you have any feedback from other bass sites, Ebay etc that can give confidence in the transaction?

Good luck with the sale.

6. Here's an alternative thought.....whats your technique like? How high / low do you sling your bass? I have found from experience that doing this bit "wrong" can seriously affect the amount of effort needed and reduces your playing time. When I first started bass (4 string) I hooked my thumb over the top of the fret board which stiffened my hand / wrist / arm and made playing difficult. As you like your current bass, maybe its worth having someone look at the way you play before modding your bass? Just my 2p :) I hope you find a solution soon.

:D

I have the Streamliner one, but I want a Shuttle set as well!
I got a rack blanking plate. Cut bolt hole ends off to length. Drill extra mounting holes in the plate for the Shuttle casing. Bend to shape. Fit, plug in and play. :D
