1.
Is this the one Entwistle had made of tulip wood or something?
Err, no(?), but he owned, and indeed smashed, a few of them!!
 2.
I find myself mysteriously drawn to any talk of the fabled Slab Precision...
Me too, I've been on here for about 10 months now, and not seen any reference, so thought I'd ask?? Do you have any personal experience of this rare bird??
 3.
"The Holy Grail"
Wow, that was a quick response, less than a minute!!
 4. I'm curious to see if anyone either has one/has played one/owned one/knows someone who has one etc?? There's a few known examples, and the chances are that someone on here has had some contact with, or knowledge of, one of them? I was offered Steve Curries a few years ago, but passed on it because of all the mods it had, one of the few 'serious' vintage basses I've been offered, that I don't regret passing on. Other than that, I played one in a New York Vintage store about 3 years ago, although it was the rosewood version (Doesn't count in my book!!), that's as close as I've got. Any other stories? (Real ones please! ) (Sorry if this has been posted before, i did a quick search and couldn't find another?)
 5.
I pretty much know how to put together a bass in theory, I have never done anything remotely like it though and I don't want to screw up such expensive parts.
If you're just assembling parts, there shouldnt be anything to 'screw up', you may have to do things more than once, or tweak/adjust things, but nothing that will damage the bass or components. I've assembled 3 basses from scratch, i have no skills, but a screwdriver, a soldering iron (Not neccessary either with some pickup/pot assemblies), and a keen eye is all you need. My three are fab, and were cheap too, and I used all Fender components.
 6.
http://www.themusicz...llar-Jazz-Bass/ And people thought the dusty was a bit much price wise.
That is ridiculous....oh hang on...whats that?.....free shipping!! Quite reasonable then!
 7.
[sub]That has to be the single ugliest bass I have ever seen, nasty[/sub]
Which one?, I can see three under your comment. (Runs for cover........)
 8.
I bet they are. I would.
9.
Of course I'm eager I'm a perv
10.
am I the only one denied access to his other items?
LOL, I can sense your eagerness to see more!! Most of his items are blocked, but there are a few, keep scrolling!!
 11. Welcome Mr. Richards, have fun here!!
 12.
Being a keen art student, I thought I had better investigate further, of course.
Good shout!!
 13.
Um... he's not really selling basses though, is he??
That's true, i never thought to check his other items before, I'd seen enough, interesting to know you were keen to discover more though!
 14. Honest enough description, top money though for a jazz in this condition, there's much cheaper '66's out there. Shame though, looks nice from the front, and rather horrid on the back. This is in the US too, where there's more choice, to achieve this price in the UK wouldn't surprise me though.

 16. On this particular bass, I'd play it, I'd be very careful where i played it, but I'd play it. Firstly, Norman is certainly an acquired taste, and with respect, isn't in the Entwistle/McCartney/Jaco league of past owners, that would push its value into the stratosphere, and thus deem it a display/private playing instrument. Secondly, it is not in near mint condition, or of specific rarity (It's rare all'right, but it's a '62 Jazz, with an alleged likely refin, they are not exactly unseen), that would therefore deem it appropriate to preserve it, and not play it on a regular basis. This is certainly not my opinion on all vintage basses, but on this one, yes, play it, and....... i bet it plays, and sounds, the dogs cajones!!
 17.
Did we say they look ugly and are really unbalanced?
I think we covered the ugly bit, the horrible to play bit, but looks like the unbalanced bit got overlooked!! Just to be clear, when you say "really unbalanced", do you mean the basses, or the owners....or both??
 18.
They play horribly and feel horrible to play.
Oh yeah, i forgot that bit!!
 19.
Hi, i'm a bass player from near Barcelona, Spain. Playing bass for three years, and doing some synthetisers and electronic stuff for a little more. Actually I'm playing a Tokai Thunderbird with a Markbass Little Tube and a 600f32 cabinet and a Line 6 M13. Also a i'm lefty, one of the reasons to registry on that forum and meet another lefties.
Hola, Como estas? Bienvenida a Basschat. Lo siento para my Espanol, es muy mal !! Mi mujer is Espanola, pero de otra Espana de Barcelona!!
 20.
Maybe but you would have to stand behind me as I am already in that corner as I too think Ricky basses are the most hideous horrible basses ever made in the world. I hated the one I owned and soon sold it. Had another go a few years later and yep, hated it just as much Now give me an F......Give me an E...... Give me an N.....ok I'll stop now
Don't stop, I was chanting along.......
 21.
I don,t think we will hear much Rick bashing on thus thread. Jetglo rules
Rick 4001/3's are the ugliest basses ever created, actually not quite, but they're pretty close, there, I did it (Is this the part where I retreat to the safety of my corner, you know, the one with the big backwards 'F' embossed on it??)
