I'll take good care of it Nathan. Always wanted a Stingray 4. Loved the sound of the Stingray 5 I had, but couldn't get along with the string spacing...

If I recall correctly most T-basses have that pickup combination, but the extra pickup is a dummy coil for hum cancelling (usually hidden by the pickguard)... as usual I could be wrong... it happened once... I think it was a Tuesday...

Yeah... I'd be keeping mine if I had use for the B string and didn't have a Shuker coming. A 'ray will come in much more useful to be honest (altough a bongo 4HH or Beck VI are on my hit list!)...

I recently received this lovely bass from Mr. Russ but have found it's playing second fiddle to my 4 string basses. Try as i might I just have no need for the 5th string at the minute and have a custom 6 string Shuker (madness or what!) due shortly which will cover me for any B string work I need.

Proper jazz string spacing (19mm at bridge but adjustable if required), wide assymetrical neck (very comfy) and the most flexible range of sounds from a passive bass that I've ever heard.

To save on shipping I didn't take the case when I traded for the bass so it won't include a case (but I ship things extra secure!).

Will consider trades, preferably with cash my way, but only for 4 string basses I'm afraid (would ideally like the 4 string version of this bass but I know they're hard to come by). No Warwicks or Lakland JOs I'm afraid - have excellent examples of each.

Would prefer a straight sale if possible. I know things are tight at the minute but I'm after £700 plus shipping. If I don't get it then it'll just stay here until things improve.

I'd go as far as a bridge change and maybe a new set of pickups and electronics. As has been said, Yammies are decent basses so really it's up to you. Either of those upgrades could make the difference. Start with the cheapest though!

I must never have played a decent venue then!

Do you just monitor yourself or do you do the whole band from the mixer? I might give monitoring myself a go at band practice next week just to see how it goes (I have a Johnson J-station and a set of bose tri-port in-ears that I could use just for the purposes of experimentation).

Any interest in a Roscoe Beck V? Love this bass but have always wanted a nice JO5 to compliment my JO4!

I'd love to go the in-ear monitoring route, but the rest of the band wouldn't be too keen I don't think. I couldn't really see me doing it on my own as it's just something else to carry as I'd still need an amp for them to hear me. They're all for 'quite on stage, let the PA do the work' but just won't go the whole hog...

If it were up to me we'd be gigging with an electronic drum kit, 3 pods and in ears all the way!

I believe UB40's bass player (name escapes me right now) had something similar to the pleasure board built. Details are in a (fairly) recent BGM interview. Maybe cheaper than a pleasure board?

That's been sold for a long time. That's flat out the best bass I've ever played. But then it'd have to be at that price!

I seriosly doubt you'll be dissappointed either way! For me I love Laklands and love jazz basses, so it'd be tough for me to decide between the two. As has been said before you'd have to do a side-by-side to really make your mind up...
