1. Spoke to Rob yesterday, things sound like they're coming along nicely. After much thought I've also decided to have a finger ramp fitted to the bass too. Think it will really finish the whole thing off. I also managed to find a sweet video of Danyel Morgan playing his on the David Letterman show http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x13stuk_robert-randolph-and-the-family-band-born-again-live-on-david-letterman_music
 2. Just an example of how the bass will be finished (obviously not this shape) I really wish I had it now
 3. I really liked the old Nine Inch Nails website. They basically had an official front page using their web domain but all the links took you to free hosting sites. For example, the image gallery link took you to their flickr album, the video link to their YouTube channel and the music link to their soundcloud page etc. Most internet sevice providers offer you a small ammount of free hosting you could upload the front page to and then host everything else for free at other sites.
 4. I think both are a good idea. If you get something like the MXR Preamp you can use it to EQ your sound when you're going through your normal amp, like an active bass pre amp, then use the DI out as backup if your Orange head blew up mid gig or if you weren't using an amp like you mentioned above. Then if you did just rely on the FOH system you can still EQ the DI signal. I'm also a big fan of using a compressor with a bass. Just helps keep everything level, especially when using fingers.
 5. Well I can highly recommend the Fender Modern Player Jazz V at around £450 http://intl.fender.c...color-sunburst/ I've been gigging with one for over a year now and it's been lovely. plus the pickup switching will give you the humbucker bridge / single jazz at the neck you want.

 7. I bought some stuff on Thomann today and paid with PayPal. Thomann estimated it at about £176 but I actually paid £183 through PayPal.
 8. Glad to hear it mate. If you order a cover from Roqsolid make sure it's the updated sizing for the model. The original one they sent me didn't fit so I gave them the correct measurements. I may have the email conversation some where if you need the measurements.
 9. I believe Binky Bass has/had a K7 and really rated it for the money. Can't wait to get my hands on mine. Gonna tune B-E-A-D-G-B-E so my 25 years of learing guitar scales/chords (and sweep patterns) etc transfers exactly across.
 10. I finally did it. I've just ordered myself a custom 7 string jazz bass from Rob at Bass Mods in the US. A few years a go I really fancied a 6 string jazz bass and after a lengthy internet seach I stumbled upon the Bass Mods site. Alas at the time I was up to my eyes in debt so could only look and dream. Last year they brought out their new K7 string jazz bass which looked awesome and really took my fancy, but I still had too much debt to sort out. Roll on to March when I finally paid of all of my debt and decided I would treat myself and order a K7 but typically they were out of stock. I decided to drop Rob a message to ask when they would expect a new shipment in and whether I could order a custom model. Rob replied promptly and told me he was just about to put a new order together and thay they have upgraded the bass quality since the last 7's came out, they have much better finishes, better woods and are lighter are weight. He also said that if I got the specs finalised he could order me a custom model to be included in the next order. Boom! So after some help from Rob speccing out the bass here is what I have ordered. Bass Mods K7:

Chambered swamp ash body in a black stain finish
35" scale 21 fret maple neck with back binding with black block inlays
Kent Armstrong Skyline Humbuckers (USA hand wound versions)
Bassmods BEQ12-34AP Preamp in chrome
Hipshot string through bridge in Chrome
Hipshot Ultralite tuners in satin/chrome
White pearloid pickguard
Got to wait about 5 months now whilst it's built but luck would have it I will be visiting my brother in America not long after it is finished so I'm having it shipped there and then bringing it back on the plane myself to save on shipping costs. Can't wait.

 13. Sorry buddy, I genuinely don't have any time atm to find a box. Maybe in a couple of weeks when things calm down at work.
 14. I would also suggest perhaps looking into slightly more expensive, fitted ear plugs. I got some ACS PRO17 ear plugs at the start of the year after my off the shelf ones just weren't cutting it and making it difficult to pitch doing BVs. The difference is amazing as these have special filters that maintain a flat frequency response and just make everything quieter. No more feeling like you've got your fingers in your ears. http://acscustom.com/uk/product/acs-pro17/ It was dead easy to get fitted. I went to Boots to see the Audiologist after having my ears syringed who took molds of my inner ears and sent them to ACS. A couple of weeks later I got my custom ear plugs. Probably one of the best equipment purchases I've ever made.
