Agreed the BEs are ridiculously well built. I have a BE4 Exotic and just (finally) got a matching BE5. Probably the best built basses I own, and nowhere near the most expensive. 600 quid is a steal.

Such quality work, lovely thing to see.

Totally forgot to mention, but we did quite the sizeable festival gig in summer with our Faithless Tribute ….. The Faithless.
Bass is my own Infinite Custom MS5 build with Flatwounds and EMG DC pickups. Lots of OC and Future Impact of course….

I have them on 4 of my basses, undoubtedly will be some patches of rust…. But tone is good so not bothered.

Great cabs, I still use 2 L212s often…

Sounds very sweet

Very cool, so Serek B90 in bridge and Bi-Sonic in neck position then?
-
The 2 point works fine on flat bodied instruments using a 3 point bridge. The 3 point version also works on carved tops, like a Jack Cassidy bass.
-
Can I just check, you say 3 point replacement bridge, but pic is of a 2 point (pre 1973 type) bridge. Is the pic the actual bridge?
Thanks, Harry

I did small surface area, thin coats when I saw how thick it was ….. from a distance it looks okay, but up close the finish is just fugly. Had better results using a 5£ can of car paint. Maybe I had a bad batch, I have enquired…

I'm quite surprised by that, I have done an ash bass and a couple of guitars with that lacquer and been happy with all three. Admittedly I have low standards
Maybe I am just difficult, I.hate everything about it…..

So I decided to try the Crimson Wipe on Water based lacquer……. Like trying to coat your instrument with honey!
Utterly useless stuff. Now will need to let it cure (2 weeks max), before I coat again with something that actually does work…… anyway……never again Mr Crimson.
Bubinga neck on oil coat 4, headless body coat 1 and classic body (well see above).

Yeah. Wasn’t planning on it, but the Walnut caught my eye for the exact same reason m.

Wow, just got onto this…. specialty kit with a feature set (and price I expect) that is overkill for most, but there are going to be decent numbers of folks (pro and amateur) that will see midi control on the fly never seen before. Glorious!

I doubt there are much better basses than the import Laklands for the price. I am hugely impressed. GLWTS
