    That's looking very nice :)

Thank you, it is light too, body as is = only 1.6 ….. so probably closer to 1.4kg with routing, arm and body contouring done. Absolutely will end up a very easy sub 4kg instrument, 3.7 hopefully.

The Mahogany had “a lot” of mass removed.

  2. With the Baritone complete, now moving on with this…. Slight change in plan, am going headed, with chrome hardware… just feels like I need this to be more “classic”. I already have the rough body shape, rough neck and routing for trussrod/rods done. Will snap pics and post.

  4. Building a Baritone, commissioned by a friend. Brief: 28” scale, but keep overall length same as a normal scale guitar, inspired by the Jazzmaster design. Just dropping some pics, as I haven’t been on the forum much.

    Alder Body

    28” Maple neck

    Wenge fretboard

    Decent but budget black  hardware

    Double humbuckers

  5. So this build does not appear to be happening …… I found a hairline fracture running from around the 12th fret to the nut. Increasingly likely this is going to end up being recycled. Shame…..

On the upside I am building a Baritone guitar, PJ and have bought a laser engraver.

Just discovered this thread, any updates?

Hi, I have to admit I have hardly been on BC for ages. It doesn’t give me the joy it once did. But importantly Iam still building,…

Move to new workshop complete, the bass, well that is still as it was …. am doing a fretless 5 currently, after that is done I will revisit the Streamer.

Oh god now I’m tempted, if shipping to the UK isn’t bank busting I may be able to get this neck in a couple of weeks once the heat from the wife for buying another full bass dies down.

could then use the old one with this neck as a lower tuning Mikro Bass.

I had been upgrading my Mikro for a few weeks and was putting the final touches on it the other night and stuck Labella Jamersons on her, had the action almost perfect but the neck bow was around a full 1mm when fretted on the 1st & 17th and checked over the 7th. Thought I could tighten the truss rod to get it down to the .3mm I had before with my D’addario Chromes and then suddenly CRACK truss rod snaps, gutted.

Managed to convince the wife to let me buy another full Mikro she isn’t happy as I have 5 other basses but for me the Mikro is my favourite to play as it’s the most comfortable.

If the shipping isn’t going to be too much then I might nab this off you when the wife chills out a bit as it would be a shame for my baby to go to waste.

Shipping would be 15 quid, just dm me if you want to proceed. Am not often on BC nowadays.

It states on their website that "all prices include 20% VAT unless otherwise stated", so there shouldn't be any other charges.

    Worth checking first though.

Cross Border tax legislation would beg to differ…. But regardless, I have seldom bought from a more disorganised, impersonal shop ever. They rarely get any of my money.

  9. Have been working on the Streamer, unfortunately it looks as if the broken off headstock will not work as a basis for the new headless.  I will most likely build up from Wenge “left overs” I have. I have plenty to make a stable “graft”

Just parking this one here…… if you followed my tandem build thread you will remember I took the Thunderbird pickups out of my Bogart. Tonight I routed the Bogart body to fit a PJ config and made a new pickguard.

Just waiting on a new battery box to be delivered and will then add a Noll TCM4XM pre to the Geezer setup. I need this done so I can focus on the Streamer.

This one is now 100% complete and working well. So full attention to the Streamer. The key challenge will be routing the bridge and tuner knob recesses as the body is curved. But I have already sussed out how to do that without issues.
