1. I asked them to build it for me. it was not built for any trade show and it's not an exhibition model. And yes it is the only one.
2. The balance is not to bad and the neck is not chunky so that eliminates the uneasiness that a wide neck can cause for some players. I have small hands and I have no issues with the neck at all. Overall a very well crafted bass.
3. It's a bass that was made by Sire. It shows that they are capable of doing more than what the world know them for. That's why.
4. This is the only made. Right now there are no plans to offer it as a new model option.
5. I'm sorry I should have been more specific. His sig amp is not ready for market just yet.
6.
Marcus doing a new Sire promo video (& his new signature Mark Bass amp in use) https://www.youtube....h?v=daYfQ1Ipf1k
The amp in the video is not Marcus signature amp.
7.
Thanks for that. I guess I need to play round with the EQ a bit more. I noticed quite a big quality jump in overall tone and sound when on a gig playing between this and my USA Fender Jazz select active 4 string. It might be cheaper to go out and get a sadowsy preamp pedal and play the Sire in passive mode. I'm not saying the preamp isn't good, just couldn't really dial in a tone I was completely happy with.
There's a little gain dial inside the bass on the preamp board, dialing it in and out should get you to your required sweet spot.
8.
I have a sire on order but I tried a mates last week and when you turn up the volume bass and treble etc it really distorts?? Does yours do this? It's as if too powerful?? Or just needs the pick ups adjusting?
All you have to do is open the pre up and you will see a little blue box with a white dial on it, that dial will allow you to turn the gain up or down on the pre.

10.
I'm still not quite getting this. It does a lot of things, but IMO none are a problem waiting to be solved. £600 is a lot of scratch for a few vaguely useful (and not-so-useful) features. Good luck to 'em, though.
There's definitely some players that all these features will work for.
11. Doug Wimbish and Ashdown's Mark Gooday on the Ashdown B -Social. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNAY1Dyyey4&feature=youtu.be
12. I've played through the B - Social and I played through it with no effect pedals and it sounded very nice. Sound is subjective but overall not a bad sounding amp at all.

14. I'm talking about the pre and how versatile the Sire basses are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhOSlAsGA8U
15.
I'd love it if they do the M3 as a five string
Sire will be releasing a 5 and 6 string version of the M3 very soon. The model is called the M7.
16.
the db750 is by no means an all tube amp
It's more of a tube amp with the three 12AX7’s and the one 12AU7 than the Ashdown ABM series is.
17. I've been using the ABM 1000 since 2012 (serieal # 1) and I also use the ABM EVO 500 serries and the ABM 1000 has a crushing overall out put in comparrison to the EVO 500 but it also has that sam thick warmth as the EVO 500. One can tell that the two amps are related for sure just that it is very easily to hear that the ABM 1000 has more head Room. Now comparing the ABM 1000 and EVO 500 to a tube head like the Aguilar DB 750 is like comparing apples to oranges. Same as if one was comparing the ABM seriers to the Ashdown CTM series. Ashdown Endorser
18. I have an Ashdown ABM 1000 and there is nothing like it on the market. It has serious headroom and each note that comes through it sounds extremely powerful and focused.
