I know you saw my NBD thread in which I criticised the stock electronics, but you might get on better with them than I did, especially if you use an amp. That Roswell PM-4 (P) pickup has to have the most powerful output I have ever heard from a bass, it's an absolute unit of a pickup.
I shall reserve judgement until I have given it a good go. But hopefully I get on ok with it.
I'm genuinely intrigued to see what this one is like. It's by far the most expensive HB I've ever bought - will that affect my judgement I wonder?

But don't you find that after you choose one to play and go around and apologize to all the others you own there is no time left to play. I know I do. Na Testicleese let em work for their place in my affections.
Lazy scum get it easy compared to a bass that is the only one in the place. 🤣
I empathise with these sentiments

Would love to give your jams a listen just to see how it sounds when used properly, I really wanted to love this pedal you know
And while I do know it's obviously my technique as well, the things that just did not work on the pedal do work on the VST without any issues, so I have already convinced myself it's not me
I tried to record it yesterday but Audacity kept crashing. I'll give it another go later

Let us know how you get on @thisisswanbon

I'd love to see the pics but can't get em to open

Well, I don't like to be contrary...despite my reputation 🫣
But I have just run through all the presets I've saved playing along to a backing track, splitting the output to two amps (one direct the other the effect) and I can't detect any problems 🤷🏻♂️

Gigged with the Ampero last night. Not an effectsy kind of band so used it as a preamp with some compression and tone shaping, just using the power amp section of my amplifier.
In fairness the Barefaced cabs I used make anything sound great, but it really was remarkably good. Used the Squeezer comp and Ampeg pre and every note was even, punchy and crystal clear. Well, not exactly clear, as it had a bit of rough around the edges, but I could hear it clearly.
Impressed.

This video does a great job of making it seem very simple. Addressed each knob one by one and how they interact.
Brilliant thanks

I’d love to love the Disorder, but it’s just too damn big!
I haven't worked it out yet. It's a really crazy pedal!

Hi @Chienmortbbquick question:
Can the expression pedal input also be used for a dual footswitch?

I too have recently discovered the wonder of Reverend basses.
Wonderful instruments.

That looks really cool.

Bought another pedal from Chris. An utterly painless, swift and simple transaction.
Chris is the embodiment of what makes Basschat such a great place.

The Aguilar tone hammer sounds good! I'm stuck between that and the tube power amp that's on there. Both sound great!
No cab and no IR mode are both really useful, too! You can turn the cab sim or IR off for 1 output, and leave it on for another. No doubt the helix will follow suit, but sure you had to use a send block to achieve that on the line 6 gear
Had a quick play to make sure the update worked, otherwise not has the opportunity to get a good look.
But I like the Tone Hammer clone from the little I've tried it

Stew, if you need a cable picking up from Bath and dropping to MSN just ask.

Also, sometimes it has to be plugged into the PC itself rather than through a hub.
You also need to be sure you've got the drivers installed. If you go into Device Manager you should be able to see if it's connected but the drivers aren't installed.
I installed the drivers. The only indication the laptop gave was a standard 'the last device connected has failed' type message. And that only occasionally.

I’m curious to hear more about the pitch shifting mentioned above as being not that good. If I get something like the Ampero, I hope to use it for a pseudo 8-string sound, where an upper octave is present but not full volume. If it can’t do something like that, it’s not for me. (My 8-string model tone would be something like John Paul Jones on Leafy Meadows.)
I'll see if I can get close and record a bit. Won't be yet though I'm on granddad duties

New update coming in the next couple of days. We get all the usual minor tweaks and fixes, but for us specifically there is to be an Aguilar Tonehammer.
Which is nice.

Which rather neatly returns me to my original question.
How does one know one is buying a good quality usb cable?

I have definitely had USB cables that worked with some devices - so weren’t just charge-only - but not others. I can only guess that it’s something to do with the impedance or capacitance of the cable and the ability of the non-working devices to drive it, or something.
This echoes my experience
How was your gig last night?

Played at Bristol City's football ground this afternoon, entertaining the red and white scarfed hordes before the game.
Not sure the crowd there gathered were particularly bothered but good to do two gigs in one day.
