1.
It might be worth considering that you were potentially going to sell that via eBay for £150 MINUS your eBay & PayPal fees £225 might be a better deal than your original price but I would say that you need to be realistic with some of the offers you get in light of what you could have ended up with... it's your item and your call though. Good luck.
Ye, you're quite right. I hoped to get some bidding activity by lowering the starting price, but I guess the pitfall can be folks just sitting back! After what I paid for the neck I'm not in that much of a rush to sell it. My students have noticed it and drooled over it in my studio. I'm just gutted the bass didn't work for me. On paper it was perfect but for my technique and style it just wasn't to be. C'est la vie!
 2.
Probably the right decision for you but I hope a fellow BCer wasn't looking to snipe that on eBay otherwise my advice to you just shot them in the foot
Ummm with the PMs I've had I think your predictions were true. Thanks again. N
 3. Now reduced to £40. Has anyone heard these PUPS before? If you want Vintage Growl these are the beasts! Plus they are wound to eliminate hum.
 4.
You might find that someone is sitting back hoping to score it for £150 rather than the BC offer of £250! Incidentally... (and this is just offered as advice Nick) if you have it on ebay for a BIN of £250 why not offer it on here at £250 minus the ebay and potential PayPal fees? I'm not angling to score this for myself (no 'W' on the headstock ) it's just my insight
Hi, Fair point, it did cross my mind. What I have decided to do is take it off Ebay. I would rather a Bass Chat member gets it who will use it rather than someone on Ebay looking to profit. Also the neck was only on trial for 2 weeks so apart from the filled Schaller holes it's in ex-demo condition. If this bothers you Schallers can always be re-fitted. After a think I have decided to reduce the neck to £225 for a Bass Chat buyer. This will save the buyer approx £175 (dollars to pounds) on the new price from Warmoth including: >The Hipshot UltraLites > Import Duty > Neck Profiling > Nut Fitting & Filing by a professional luthier This neck was more expensive than the standard necks due to the Ebony & optional Lined Fretless Effect. So the choice is your folks it's yours for £225, as described, or you could shell out approx £400 for a new one? Thanks for your thoughts Nick

 6. A neck & bridge set barely used. I had another set of these on an old Fender Jazz of mine and they are great pickups for vintage growl. Theis set was fitted to a custom bass for a couple of weeks that wasn't for me hence the sale These are in pristine ex-demo condition and are easy to fit! Check out WD Music's website for more info on these Bargain at £50 (includes postage) NOW SOLD PENDING PAYMENT!
 7. You are looking at a neck that was temporarily part of a custom Warmoth bass built by a luthier for me. However the quality of the neck is absolutely amazing. The neck has great sustain and is fitted with graphite neck re-inforcement rods. The neck was initially neck heavy with Schaller BM Clover Tuning Posts fitted. We changed these to HipShot UltraLite tuners and the neck now balances perfectly. The holes that were created, by fitting the Schallers, were carefully filled by a French Polisher (see pics). There is a small mark next to one of the tuning posts on the front (see pic). Also note slight string impression on the fingerboard from some round wounds being fitted for a short period. Please note there is no adverse wear though! I'm just being honest. The neck comes with an immensely thick Ebony fingerboard for longevity (see pics). The sound the fingerboard generates is bright and smooth, very much like Jaco’s sound. See my teaching thread for reassurance about this purchase! £250 (includes postage & Hipshot UltraLites) NOW EVEN LESS AT £225

 13. This is a feeler to see if anyone would be interested in buying individual parts of this bass. I've had one offer on the neck already. Anyone interested in buying the body? N
 14.
Nick i could listen to you play all day, really!
Thanks for your kind words Ste ......the money is on its way!...lol
 15. Here is a very quick demo track of some of the sounds this bass can create I put together in between lessons. It's nowt special, just a few noodles to give you an idea of what it sounds like. The bass was plugged straight into my multi track recorder, with out FX, apart from a hint of reverb. The first lick is with the Neck pickup turned up Second with both on full Third onwards with neck pickup on about 70% bridge on full. Any Qs. feel free to ask Cheers Nick
 16. I will get some demo sound clips on here asap In the mean time if you have any Qs. just ask Nick
 17. Bass Coaching Sessions I have had a couple of sessions now where regular students have brought their rigs to spend a lesson solving problems and getting ideas on how to utilise them. If you are not interested in having lessons on your playing but would find a session useful on addressing any problems or concerns with your rig feel free to get in touch and make an appointment. Regards Nick
 18.
What are you replacing these two with nick?
Hi Steve, because I'm going to be doing teaching in schools I wanted to downgrade to two Mex Standard Jazz basses so I'm not paranoid about dings & dents etc. To be honest the upgraded mEX series are bloody good value for money and I would gladly gig with them locally. N ;-)
 19.
Oh I agree most definitely, and with the way this thing looks you should have no trouble selling what so ever. Just wanted to assure you that if you couldn't sell it whole, you'd have a buyer for the neck Good luck with the sale.
Thanks very much for your support Nick
 20.
If by any chance you end up splitting the bass and selling it in pieces, I would love to have the neck off you Cheers.
Thanks for your interest. I will see how it goes. To be honest I would rather sell the bass complete. Besides it would be a shame to loose Ged's hard work getting it put together just right, and the lovely setup he achieved. Cheers Nick
 21. Warmoth Fretless Jazz 4 String Bass Custom 2008 Bass with Ebony Fingerboard Warmoth Fretless Jazz Bass Total Cost New: Just over £900.00 (Receipts included) You are looking at a vintage style custom fretless bass, in a beautiful Brown Burst finish. The bass was made to order by Ged Green; a luthier based in Manchester. The pickups fitted are Kent Armstrong Vintage Single Coils for greater output and low noise. They are wired to hum buck each other when both are turned up. The mid range growl in these pickups is immense. Different bridges were tried with this bass by the luthier. Heavy & Normal duty Gotoh bridges were tried. We found that they made the bass produce too much ‘mwah’. We agreed the plain traditional Fender style bridge sounded best with the high density neck and body on this bass. However I am including a Traditional style Gotoh OEM bridge in the sale (see pics). This is thicker than the fitted bridge and produces more 'mwah'. I guess it's down to preference. Atleast this way you will have a choice. The quality of the neck and body on this bass is absolutely amazing. Graphite Neck Reinforcements are included. They match the quality of top of the range custom shop Fenders. The Alder body is a solid, single piece with great sustain. Equally the neck has great sustain and is fitted with graphite truss rods. The Ebony fingerboard sounds great with round wound strings. The neck was initially neck heavy with Schaller BM Clover Tuning Posts fitted. We changed these to HipShot UltraLite tuners and the neck now balances perfectly. The holes that were created, by fitting the Schallers, were carefully filled by a French Polisher. The neck comes with a thick Ebony fingerboard for longevity. With this being a great neck the action on this bass is exceptionally low and comfortable without string buzzing The sound the fingerboard generates is bright and smooth, very much like Jaco’s sound. The neck is ‘deeper’ than Fender necks. This gives the Warmoth neck the width of a Jazz neck but the depth of a Precision neck. It feels unusual at first but you soon adjust to it. Some players prefer this ‘best of both worlds feel’. The condition of this bass as new from the luthier No nicks, no dings, no dents, no scratches, It looks great, it sounds greats, it plays great, and it feels great. It is everything you could ever possibly want or expect in a Fretless Ebony Jazz. The round wound strings fitted have made an impression on the Ebony fingerboard, but there is no adverse wear. 22. USA Fender Jazz 4 String Bass 1999 Corona Limited Edition Serial Number: N900765 Fender Corona Jazz Bass with New Fender Softcase You are looking at a vintage, limited edition, bass in a beautifully aged Olympic white finish. The pickups have been upgraded with Kent Armstrong Vintage Single Coils for greater output and low noise. They are wired to hum buck each other when both are turned up. The mid range growl in these pickups in immense. Also the pick-guard was upgraded to a brown / red tortoise shell finish. Finally the bridge was upgraded to a Gotoh OEM Vintage Style bridge for slightly more sustain and more secure saddles with runners. The neck on this bass is absolutely amazing. This is why I bought it in 1999. Back in 1999 the quality of the some Fender basses was a bit hit and miss but this one is a gem. The condition of this bass is excellent for its age. There are some small dings on the lower part of the body (see pics), but that is all. To be honest the more worn it gets the better it looks. The finish on the neck is a vintage style, which looks better with age. It looks great, has a great vintage sound, it plays easily, and it feels great. It is everything you could ever possibly want in a Fender Jazz. With this being a great neck the action on this bass is exceptionally low and comfortable without string buzzing. Many of my students have commented on how comfortable it is to play.
