1. I got this 2nd hand a few years ago and had it defretted when I wanted to be Les Claypool. Knowing owning a real Carl Thompson rainbow bass was nothing more than a dream, I figured the closest I could achieve was a rainbow painted bass. I must confess the finish isn't of the highest quality but it looks rather striking from a distance (or from the audience as you stomp proudly around the stage).

It was made in 1993 and has an active 2 band EQ, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and alder body, I seem to remember the grain being quite nice if you were to strip it and go for a natural/transparent finish and it comes with a tatty but usable gig bag. It's in need of a couple of knobs and a new set of strings.

I'd like £100 collected from Sheffield or will post at cost, you're welcome to come and give it a try.

  2. I have a bass with Nordstrand jazz pickups and an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp and I've recently been having lots of problems with interference noise (thought it was stage lights at the time) and clicks when I touch the strings and pots which points to grounding issues. I've just had a more thorough poke around and all the wiring is sound but the pickups seem to be microphonic (if I crank my amp I can use them as a vocal mic). Could microphonic pickups cause the interference noise and grounding issues?

  3. I have an ACG EQ02 4K/PT preamp in my bass which I'm very happy with but is a bit too complex for my onstage readjustments as it's so versatile. It has stacked volume/pickup blend, treble stack, bass stack and passive tone, full info is here: http://www.acguitars.co.uk/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=7. I'm thinking about trading for something like an Aguilar OBP-3 but will consider any (ideally 4+ pot) system or will sell for £120 posted. What have you got?

  4. I'm selling this great EBS cab which I've used for lots of wedding/function gigs but now I've got a car I'm using my bigger Markbass cab. It's 250W, 8 ohms, neodymium 1x10, tiltable (a bit), has an insane tweeter with level control and speakon and jack connections. Full specs are on the EBS website here: www.bass.se/2009/neo110.htm

It's in great nick, can't see anything wrong with it. I'm after £270 collected from Sheffield, will post if required.

  5. Radial Bigshot Mix - This is a great loop pedal that allows you to mix the dry signal with the effects. It's also got a phase switch which is particularly useful for synth type pedals to stop frequency cancellation. It's seen some use on my pedal board and has a couple of scratches and I recently replaced the switch (with a replacement from Shure, the Radial distributer) as the old one jammed but it's built like a brick sh!thouse and is works perfectly.

    [s]I'd like £50 delivered.[/s]

    Now on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Radial-Bigshot-Mix-guitar-effects-true-bypass-loop-pedal-with-blend-/321130856900

[s]3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator - highly praised envelope filter, this is the original mk1 version. It's a great pedal but I'm not using it much at the moment and I need to reclaim some space on my board. Excellent condition and comes with original box and 3Leaf canvas bag thing, it has velcro on the bottom. £95 posted.[/s]

[s]Behringer Hellbabe wah - lots of tweakability and has a handy boost control, again I need board space back and this doesn't get used. Has velcro on the bottom and is in great condition. £25 posted.[/s]

[s]BBE Crusher - distortion with useful 3 band EQ to boost the bass, boxed in good condition (a few light paint scratches, nowt serious) - £30 delivered[/s]

[s]Tech 21 Red Ripper - crazy synth/fuzz/distortion box of joy, very good condition - a few dings in the paint but purely cosmetic. Comes with Tech 21 metal tin and instructions. £100 posted.[/s]

[s]Boss SL-20 Slicer - play a note and it'll slice it into rhythmic patterns, arpeggiate it and mess it up in a number of intriguing ways. Smash it with some fuzz and you get some rediculous noises. I'd planned on doing some harmonicsy solo-ey stuff with this and a looper (it also has a looper built in) but didn't get round to it before car insurance needed renewing. Excellent condition, boxed with instructions, £110 posted.[/s]

  7. *SOLD*

I've been using this for a while ago but my pedal collection has grown a bit too much. It's a velcro covered powered pedal board with a 9V adaptor, six 9V outputs, 2 loops for easy plugging in and a good quality carry case. The velcro area is about 24" x 12".

    £45 posted.
