1. Selling another odd one... A Bassix EUB built on a cello body with a composite, headless neck; the ball ends of the string sit by the nut and the tuners are in the special tail piece. The spike is extra long so it's playable standing up with a normal nut height. The preamp has volume, treble and bass controls and it sounds surprisingly good for such a freak... It's in storage at the moment but I'll get some samples recorded when I can get my hands on it.

Comes in a really well padded Ritter cello bag. Collection or meet up near York definitely preferred, not sure if it's postable.

Apologies for the slightly hurried listing, just realised my marketplace posting fee expires this afternoon!

2. Bit of an odd one this, an Oakwood semi acoustic EUB. Oakwood are highly regarded in folk circles for their guitars, mandolins and other acoustic fretted instruments. I'm not sure how old it is, my mum picked it up second hand 20 odd years ago and it's been basically unused since then as she got into orchestral playing.

From the Oakwood website: "With a body of either walnut laminate [this one is walnut] or solid figured sycamore, maple neck and ebony fingerboard [this one doesn't look like ebony, it's brown], it doesn't look like a double bass but it certainly sounds like one - and it's a lot easier to get on the bus. Thomastik strings and Shadow pickups complete the spec."

It's full scale length with a long, sturdy spike and the wooden support bar lets you get a solid hold on it with the feel of playing a full bodied instrument. As mentioned above, the fingerboard is dark brown so I'm assuming it is not the specced ebony but maybe rosewood; I can only guess as my wood knowledge is minimal. The sound is pretty faithful to a real upright with good sustain, despite the original set of Spiros and the Shadow pickup not being anything special. I'll try and get a couple of samples recorded. It currently has a flat setup which makes it nigh on impossible to bow the middle two strings properly. The bridge is adjustable and currently at its lowest so you could raise it and reshape the top for a more curved, bowable radius.

There are a few dings, especially down the back edges and a couple of surface scratches that I've shown in the photos but no structural issues. There isn't a proper case but it comes with a lovely dark red velvet cover.

A new one is still listed on the Oakwood website at £3845 but they haven't made one for ages and there's a lot more about in the EUB category nowadays. It is a really lovely, hand built instrument from a great luthier that deserves some use.

Come and give it a play in York, postage is not an option on this one.

3. Everyone knows this great quality, made in Italy combo. It has the Combo Head 2 amp (which is a Little Mark 3), 300W into its own 12" driver or 500W with an extension cab. It's in great nick other than scuffs on the plastic corner protectors and some paint chips on the metal grille. The Markbass logo fell off the front at some point, I've stuck it on with blutak for the photos. Selling as I also have another Markbass rig and I quite fancy trying a Phil Jones C4. Collection or meet up near York would be ideal although I'm willing to courier it which will about £15 fully insured.

Potential trades with cash my way: Phil Jones C4, potentially a 2x8 cab, Tech 21 VT bass v2, TC Spectracomp

4. Sold.

I bought these off Artisan on here a little while ago, they were on my bass for six weeks or so which makes about three months total usage; all strings and silks in great condition. They sound great and are a lovely tension but I'm currently favouring the slightly brighter sound of Zyex. £100 posted.

5. I've changed to the lower tension set so no use for these any more. Absolutely new set of medium tension Zyex, still sealed in their plastic wallets. I've lost the box so they'll come with an older, slightly tatty one. Selling for 170 on Thomann and elsewhere, hows about 125 quid including fully insured next day delivery.

6. Ear Trumpet just announced this and it sounds great in the video for just the dry signal. $600 + importing faff is a fair whack though, it would be interesting to see a direct comparison with some other mics.

7. Boss ODB-3 in good condition, there's a couple of very small paint chips but nothing major. I've changed the filter cap to remove some of the highs as in the Wampler mods, I can change that back or include the original one if you want to see what it's like stock. I had also changed the clipping diodes but I preferred the stock LEDs and put them back in. There's a couple of bits of (easily removable) velcro on the bottom and it comes with the box.

£30 collected from Hull or £34 posted.

8. I'm selling a pair of 5 string EMG 40CSX pickups, both in excellent condition. I got them for a jazz bass I've had rerouted for soap bars and they've got a great sound but the control cavity isn't really big enough to accomodate a battery so I think I'll go passive.

80 quid posted or trade for passive pickups of the same size with some cash adjustment, EMG 40HZ would be nice but hit me with what you have.

EMG say...
"The EMG 40CSX is a big sounding modern humbucker for players looking to tame the higher frequencies in their bass tone. The two coils loaded with ceramic magnets and steel poles provide warmth and punch with a smooth top end and plenty of output. With the on-board X Series preamp, this pickup takes on added dynamic response and touch sensitivity, giving it a feel that is similar to a passive pickup while maintaining the sonic range of an active. This model uses an extended housing that is 4 inches (102mm), perfect for five string basses"

9. The jacks on my ODB-3 came loose a couple of years ago causing the wires to snap off. I soldered them back where they appeared to go but either it wasn't right or something was grounding that shouldn't have been. Anyhoo, I've just dug it out and I want to get it fixed up but I can't find any photos of the connections to the jacks, only shots of the PCB. Could somebody pop theirs open and take a couple of photos so I can see where the wires go, please? I would be eternally grateful.

10. Full size Ritter gig bag, generally in great condition except the previous owner took off/broke off the smaller carry handles. There's still plenty of handles to grab on to and back pack straps. Two bow pockets (one with squishy insert), couple of pockets on the front and a bigger one on the back for sheet music, etc. I've only every used it for keeping a spare bass in at home.

£50 or make me an offer, I need my spare room back.

Edit: forgot to add the picture. Can get a better one if needed.
