1. This be gone.

Barefaced Generation 3 Big Baby II with silver cloth grill, full specs here: http://barefacedbass.../Big-Baby-2.htm

I've only had this cab just over three months but due to car problems and no one buying my old Markbass cab I'll have to offer it up. Sounds amazing, loads of punch, loads of girth and takes everyone by surprise how light it is. It's got one small ding on the top rear edge from tight squeeze car packing but is otherwise in perfect condition. A great chance to get one of these cabs without the waiting time of a new one.

  2. Check out a British Cuban band called Son Yambu, just spent a week with them at a world music festival in Borneo and they were at Glastonbury too. All really great players, serious grooves happening and you can go and see them in the flesh! They're playing in Manchester on 19th July if that's anywhere near your bit of Sunny Yorkshire.

  3. I think Jack White was enhanced by the atmosphere. I was up at the front and loved every disheveled minute of it whereas some mates much further back didn't get it at all.

Metallica sounded huge live and I thought they pulled out all the stops and nailed the show. Other highlights were St Vincent, Royal Blood, Jurrasic 5 who I thought I'd never get to see and Melt Yourself Down. To be honest though I'm having trouble remembering a lot of the weekend... I'll have to get on iPlayer for a reminder.

  4. This is a Gator GPT-PRO 30"x16" pedal board (Thomann link: http://bit.ly/1jB2ahw) in OK condition; it has a few knocks in the black covering but it's really solid and all the velcro is fine. The bag however is somewhat nackered; it has a couple of holes in the corners and zips have gone. I've used it like this for the last 18 months or so with two of those mini ratchet strap type things round it to hold everything together in transit. I've recently switched to a multi effects so no longer need a board this size, I was thinking of getting one of the large Mono pedal train bags to house it in for future use though. £10 collected from Sheffield.

  5. Markbass Club 102 - well gigged over the last few years but looked after, missing a couple of corner protectors on the bottom and has a ding on one of the bottom kickback corners (those never had corner protectors) but nothing to worry about, also has some stickers on the grill that will come off without a trace. Now discontinued punchy 400W 2x10 with adjustable tweeter, 2x combi speakon/jack connectors. Can be used vertically or horizontally in wedge mode; it works great sat on top of the 15 in wedge mode if you're close to it. Comes with Roqsolid cover in black with yellow trim.

£400 collected from Sheffield, happy to post at cost.

[s]Markbass STD 151HR - barely used and in excellent condition. 1x15 with adjustable tweeter, 400W, 1x speakon and 2x jack ins/outs with Roqsolid cover in black with yellow trim. £350[/s]

  6. I've got a french one of these: http://www.bowshop.co.uk/plain%20black%20%20bass%20bow.html which I really like for the money. My mum also got a german one at the same time which she prefers to all the other more expensive wooden ones she's had. Plus Tim is a really nice guy.

  7. I've had this bass for about 8 years during which time it's been my main bass and done hundreds of gigs. I'm playing my jazz more at the moment so thought I'd put some feelers out. It was made by the late Paul McNab (Paulman) from Huddersfield. Originally it was wired with the pickups straight to the jack so as not to mar the gorgeous flame with knobs; I needed more tonal options so Ged Green fitted the preamp. I'm planning on taking it for a setup in the next couple of weeks.

It's 35" scale, Delano pickups, Schaller tuners and bridge with adjustable spacing, John East designed ACG EQ02-PT preamp (vol/pan stack, treble stack, bass stack, passive tone), ebony fingerboard.

Most of the pictures I have are a couple of years old but they were taken with a better camera than I have access to now. Since those photos were taken I have replaced the broken tuner and some of the Paulman logo decal has worn away so I've added a new headstock shot. There are quite a few small varnish dings, especially on the back, but the worst damage came from a microphone falling off a crappy stand at a rehearsal studio and hitting the bottom edge last year so there's a new photo of that too.

Tradewise I'm after fretted 5 strings only, I'll consider anything (especially if it has a maple neck with black block inlays).
