  1. pm'd about the zoom and the enclosure
  2. Just bought Harry's Korg G5, sent the money and he posted it next day and he's been a great guy to deal with throughout. Top banana. Time to make some stupid noises...
  3. Just got my student loan in... SO tempted...
  4. If budget allowed for either a good amp or a good cab which would it be better to go for first?
  5. Where is good to buy EA/Acoustic Image stuff from in the UK? Is there just Overwater? I keep thinking about getting a new amp as I'm using a bog standard Ashdown combo at the moment and a lot of the time it sounds like if it had a nose it would be being pinched... Although I can't imagine I'll be able to afford one any time soon And they seem like the kind of thing you would buy and then keep for eternity so there aren't many second hand ones knocking around.
  6. Just sold Ed my Yamaha TRB-6II, really nice guy, sale couldn't have gone smoother. Have fun with the bass! Tim
  7. Thanks for your comments, just ordered a Fishman so I can hopefully have a good play around with it on a gig on Thursday. Ta muchly!
  8. I'm after a preamp and I'm either going for the Fishman Platinum or LR Baggs Para Acoustic. I'm more inclined towards the LR Baggs as I think it has a bit of extra functionality and it looks cooler than the grey Fishman. Anyone got any advice either way? I'm sure both would be perfect for the job and I know people use and swear by both. Unless anyone uses anything else such as a sansamp on upright with good results then please let me know! Cheers
  9. I just had to buy new double bass strings. Therefore: BUMP!!
  10. Unfortunately I've bought too much stuff recently and something has to go to compensate, therefore: Up for grabs is my Yamaha TRB-6II, I'm after about £450 for it. Heres the basic specs: 35" scale, ash body, translucent amber finish, maple bolt-on neck, rosewood fingerboard, active humbuckers (9V). I used to use it all the time for school productions, jazz gigs, funk/rock band and ceilidhs but now I'm playing more double bass and I've recently got a 5 string Paulman which I've been using when I do get to play electric. Its in good condition although it has a couple of dings from general gigging. There are two small chips to the varnish on the back which I've shown in one of the pictures and some more tiny dings in the varnish around the edge but they're too small to show up on a photo. It comes with fitted Yamaha hard case and although it only has 5 strings in the pictures I assure you it is a six string! (The G broke when I just played it... I've got a spare set of strings somewhere that I'll put on before anyone comes to look at it!) If anyone wants to come and have a look and a play you're welcome to. I'm in Halifax (West Yorkshire) until Sunday ish and then I'm in York for uni but in Halifax most weekends for gigs so the bass can find its way to either. Cheers Tim [attachment=14437:06102008265.jpg] [attachment=14438:06102008264.jpg] [attachment=14439:06102008266.jpg] [attachment=14440:06102008267.jpg] [attachment=14441:06102008268.jpg] [attachment=14442:06102008269.jpg] [attachment=14443:06102008270.jpg] [attachment=14444:06102008263.jpg]
  11. Thats the beast, ta Rich. I'll make it a new home on the other board tomorrow then. I've PM'd mr_russ for now so if he decides he's not interested you're more than welcome to get your hands on it! Tim
  12. Ooh thats good I was hoping it might be about £450 ish. Its the bolt on, dual truss rod, ash body with amber finish. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow when I'm home again. mr_russ expressed his interest first so I I'll give him first refusal. I live in Halifax, West Yorkshire and I'm at uni in York so I could be in either of those locations if anyone wants to come have a look and a play. P.S. Should I start a new thread in the for sale section or is this ok here?
  13. Yeah no problem. Just send it in a diamond encrusted envelope
  14. I have a TRB-6II that I've had for a few years. I'm playing much more double bass than electric now and I also recently acquired a Paulman 5 string which I've been using on the odd occasion that I get to play electric. Being a student with a severe eBay/instrument buying addiciton its about time I sold something so I think its time to part with old Bertha but I have no idea what to sell it for. It's in pretty good nick, couple of minor dings and a chip in the varnish on the back I assume from a belt and has the original Yamaha hard case. I can't find any others on the internet to get an idea of price from except a few 4 and 5 strings on the bay which can be anything from £250 upwards. Can anyone tell me what its worth? Cheers Tim
  15. OK thanks, I might just chuck the cab and keep the speakers until I need them and then do a DIY effort
  16. Hi again, sorry I haven't looked at this in ages! Went off to uni and completely forgot! Anyway... That cab is the same make yeah. The logo on mine is a bit different but its very similar. Here's a couple of pics of mine: [attachment=11898:sp1.jpg] [attachment=11899:sp2.jpg] Anyone have any idea what it would be worth? Its taking up a lot of space in my room that i need for other junk! Cheers Tim
  17. I dont think its the same people. Its not a hifi speaker its a proper cab with 2 15" drivers and a big horn in it
  18. I have a random cab in my room which just says "Scott Professional" on the front. I think my mum bought it randomly a few years ago but now its sat in my room and its huge and i need the space so I'm going to sell it. Anyone ever heard of them? I guess its a UK make/person but I cant find any info anywhere and searching google is a nightmare as it just finds people called Scott who are professional speakers...
