1. Another OT one; They're "treats for wild birds" according to Pets At Home...
2. Fnaar, fnaar etc... Koch Amps website here - http://www.koch-amps.com/
3.
...that funny cymbal with the rivets.
Pretty sure it's called a Swish Knocker. Or a Dust Collector if the one in the shop I worked in for a year was anything to go by...
4. Loved the Thomas Lang clip. Not so much for the drumming, but the way the cameraman appeared to be nodding off during the first minute and a half or so...
5.
Also originally from MS, my brother snagged this for £200.00 in 1989. The full story is elsewhere on the forum, but deffo a bargain. I cannot find the story. Tell me more!
CRAP..! Must've been on the old forum. It's a good story, but it's late so I'll tell it tomorrow.
6. £120.00 from Magnum Sound in Wishaw a few years ago. Was originally on for £160.00 but when I plugged it up and it buzzed & crackled like a chip pan the guy instantly dropped the price. Also originally from MS, my brother snagged this for £200.00 in 1989. The full story is elsewhere on the forum, but deffo a bargain. Stagg BC-alike that I got from a car boot sale for a fiver. Couldn't do anything with it, so gave it to a music tech lecturer friend to do up as a studio beater for his students. Another car boot sale find; went to someone on here for a fantastically generous donation to my nominated charity. Often wondered what became of her... Can't remember what I originally paid, but it was certainly single figures.
7. Have a look here - http://www.vesterfansite.nl/page10.php?vie...amp;category=14 - It's a fantastic Vester resource. I've owned a coule of Vester Tradition Series G*itars and they were phenomenal.
8. So is Stanley Clarke the exception that proves the rule..?
9.
I'm a bit worried by that word "was". Is Southside music no more ? I used to drop in regularly when I lived in Govanhill - it was a great place and Charlie was a really pleasant guy to deal with.
Well, it was still open when I drove past at 5pm tonite, though I know Charlie has a 'flexible' approach to opening hours. Great shop, always worth swinging by if you're in the area. And I'm still working on my responses to the OP...
10. Need to thin out the herd and acquire some cash, so before she goes on Fleabay... She's a 1999 Godin LGX (2-Voice) in Cognacburst. I bought her new in 2000 (IIRC), electric pickups are Seymour Duncan and acoustic is LR Baggs bridge. 3 outputs; Electric, Electric/Acoustic & Acoustic only. I had the original Schaller tuners changed for Gotoh's as I was sick of replacing the ebony buttons. She was originally set up by Jimmy Egypt in Glasgow for 10's, and has had a couple of services since. Case has some dings as she didn't go anywhere without it, but guitar is in great condition for an instrument that saw mostly 'studio' service, with the occasional rehearsal and very infrequent gig. More pics here - http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e334/kin...SA/Godin%20LGX/ KotS
11. Saw Thunder play Saints & Sinners, Glasgow in '89 (I think) before S & S became King Tuts. Must have been the first tour they did, and they took the place apart. Saw them a few times since; supporting Heart at Edinburgh Playhouse, Donington etc and always enjoyed, A pity they are no longer. Must try and find my Terraplane stuff...
12. Been listening to the ARK albums recently - http://www.arksite.com/index_old.html - and Randy Coven plays a whole lot of fretless on there... And while writing this, I went in search of stuff on his gear; found this - http://www.pavelmi.com/basses_tzack.php And when I'm done here I'm gonna go dig out the first Blue Murder album, check out some Tony Franklin.
13. I asked because the GR 20's that I was recently considering mostly came with a GK2 included. I've got an LGX SA, remember..
14. A further query (and BUMP..!) Did/does the GR33 have the GK pickup included..? KotS
15. Just booked a delivery of a guitar to Quebec from Glasgow with Interparcel (via UPS) will see how it goes...
16. FOUND ONE..! Passing by Crack Generator in Trongate in Glasgow this morning, saw this in the window. Asking price is £199.99... Looked old but cared for; hardware a bit tarnished but no visible damage, though I didn't have the time to stop and check her out - If anyone checks her out let me know, eh..? KotS
17. How often does your Guitard get told he looks like James McAvoy..? And what do y'all sound like..?
18. An electro-acoustic bass with perfect intonation...! It'll never catch on.. That sounds like a not unreasonable price, though...
19. Found this while checking out what's new with Washburn - More here - http://www.washburn.com/instruments/basses/
20. Is this guy playing one..? He's bassist for Black Hack - http://www.myspace.com/blackhackmusic - a band that my former drummer now plays with... I thought it looked kinda familiar, but couldn't quite place it. IIRC, Tony Clarkin from Magnum played Gordy Guitars in the late 80's/early 90's,
21. No worries, here're my (current) Godins - - a '96 LGX SA and a '99 LGX - Can't speak highly enough of these; all the best elements of the 'classics' plus the piezo & synth facilities.
22. Have a BUMP on a fellow Godin owner... - I'll be watching in case the guitar sells and you're left with the synth.
23. Hey, Thodrik... So, there're people on here not from Glasgow..!? KotS
