I've posted something on your behalf on Ken Smiths forum.
Cheers for that.
Just in late from a gig so I'll have a proper look Friday. -
I've had this old ply bass for over twenty years.
It was refinished soon after I got it.

Does anyone know its origin or age?
It could be pre war, 40's or 50's
I was told by a repairman a couple of years ago it was worth about £900
I'm thinking of seeling it.
Cheers

This is a pretty bass, but I've been out of playing since about '90 (kids house wife etc, how did that happen?), and getting back into it I've discovered many differnet Fender models than I knew before !
- Can you tell me, how does an Aerodyne differ from MIA standard or is it just a cosmetic thing?
Thanks for the advice

The top is arched and the back has more contouring than a standard.
Oh just as well i didn't see it really
as i may have made you an offer for it
It would have taken more than a box of choccies
to persuade the mrs to let me through the front door,
after my visit to you.
After borrowing a friends Aerodyne Jazz a few times I was on the lookout for one.
The few I tried did not match up to his example which has an amazing neck and balances really well.
Then I saw this and took a fancy to it.
My 75 jazz stays at home now. -

when i payed you a visit.
mmmm luurvely !!!!
Hi Bernie,
I got it from Sound Control in January this year.
I popped in to try some p.a. monitors and came home with a bass!
No it wasn't hidden when you visited, it was on loan to one of my mates.
He plays a Wal 5 mostly, but used this on a gig and was really impressed.
He's thinking of going back to 4 strings now. -

I just got a LMK from Phil Dean at my local shop http://www.rocksteadymusic.co.uk/index.htm
They don't stock Markbass, but it arrived the day after I ordered it, was cheaper than BC, but not as cheap as http://guitare.playback-europe.com/markbass-lmk-7985.html
I've had poor aftersales service from the Bass Centre. I avoid dealing with them now.
Bi-amping
in Amps and Cabs
Posted
I tried bi-amping a few years ago with good results.
I was playing a Wal 5 and wanted a high-fi type full range system and aquired an ampeg SVT 400T stereo head that had a built in crossover.
I tried various cabs for tops and bottoms but also had an Ampeg SVT100T combo that had 2x8"" speakers plus tweeter.
I bridged the 400 into an 8 ohm 400 E.V.15 and took the top signal into the effects return of the 100T. Brilliant!
Another setup was with a Peavey Megabox which had 1x15 and 2x8 with passive crossover built in, or bi-amp imputs. Not as hi fi as the previous, but then I went stereo with 2 Megaboxes.
Then I got rid of it all for an SWR 400 and 2 E.V.15's.
One thing if you are going to experiment with different cabs, you'll need a variable active crossover.
