1.
Bought by me in 1978 from Kitchens in Leeds, after seeing The Average White Band using them.
This cab used to get me so many compliments about my sound.
You can hear it on stage unlike some of the earlier folded horn models that were long throw.

The original speakers are long gone, it has two TOA 15"s in at the moment.

It is fairly light for it's size and quite easy to manouvre with it's tilt & go castors.

I've no longer got an Acoustic head to go with it, but I know where there are a couple.

Collect or deliver Yorkshire. £300

(Fender Bassman now sold)
Now with 2 x Electrovoice 400w speakers.

2.
Hey everyone, picked thios up today & changed the godawful thuddy flats for some 35-90 rounds. Much better & what an adaptable sound! Whadda-ya think?

Now that's interesting.
In 1970 I had an old '60's sunburst hofner violin bass and I painted it black gloss!
They were very unpopular then, I think I paid £18 for it, or was it £28?
Now where did I put that receipt?

3.
Markbass LMK perhaps? Ultralightweight, powerful, dual channel...
I'm currently using a Markbass LMK with an Epifani UL110 for upright mostly, I've used it with a sixstring bass on a low volume gig, and done a blues gig with two stacked UL 110's (the second curtesy of Rhino)
I don't think I could improve on tone and portability.

4.
I was going to try to blag a free one off someone, seen as so many people let them go for nothing. I guess £250 is nothing, and I have shown the parents.. How much would it cost for someone to bring it over here though? Blackpool, as Im assumin it wouldn't fit in your car, definately not my cars..
If I buy your bass, you could throw it in Keith   haha! :)
Tell you what.. my uncle owns a large Yamaha motorcycle dealer in NW (Raceways), I will see if any of his vans are going over your way Keith, just a thought? Hmmm I was going to try and save up in time for September and get your double bass though.. Well September 2020

Cheers,
Matt
How about £750 for both?
I could bring the bass over no prob. The piano might go in my new (second-hand) car when I get it tomorrow, but it would have to go on it's back. A van or trailer would be better.

Anyway, you'd have to see them both first.

5.
Excellent .. Good ol' contemporary Louis Jordan tune too :)
ROFL at the dog teeth change over

I wonder why they are all playing left handed though
Maybe it's because they drive on the wrong side?

6.
Not seen anything like this before and I thought it might appeal to some of the Fender-heads.

Headless precisions heh? They look better than Stainburgers.

7. I use a Markbass LMK, which I've popped into a rack with a Korg tuner, with Epifani UL110 cab.
It's great for double bass and bass guitar.
But for those gigs where I'm totaly upright, I thought the F1 might save on the lugging.
I'm told by my local shop "Rock Steady Music" that there are non in the country yet.
Anyone tried one with double bass?

8. We had the bose rep bring a couple of L1's plus subs to Coopers Jazz Club in Guiseley.
I was keen to try the system with my double bass, I liked the idea of having a speaker at ear level for intonation reasons.
He set one pole behind me, and one at the the front of the stage to one side.
After a lot of tweaking I got a reasonable sound.
Then he mixed in the piano and vocals and I was deafened, I was too close, but the pianist was too far away and he wanted more volume.
We had to re-position the one from behind me to other side of the stage, and I plugged into my SWR Baby Blue combo.
I wasn't keen on the sound either, very harsh, compared to the EV Eliminators we use.

Dissappointing, after reading about Ron Carter using them, but then I guess he doesn't put the whole band through his.

The system was tested at another jazz club in Boston Spa, they had similar problems.
Ideally each band member should have their own tower.
I've not heard the new model.

9.
Does it have to have sold by the end of July. I am in Harrogate on 28th September, playing at the National Brass Band finals. If it is still around, I may have a try, although I am quite a bit off £1350. I would like to try it all the same though. If it were around a bit longer I could possibly save up and get it, as I need one! :)

Thanks.

Hi Matt,
John was at my gig last night and told me he'd decided to ship the bass to Canada.

Have you gone off the ply bass?

11.
I have a Dynacord BA300 200 watt valve bass amp which I have no further use for - it needs renovating as the amp box is very rough.
It works OK - a few crackles here and there but nothing serious as far as I know. I used Dynacord during the early '70's and discounting the weight of the stuff it was an excellent rig.
It's too costly to move via courier etc., so pickup would be favourable but I would consider delivering within the North of England in return for a contribution towards fuel costs.

How much for this wonderful thing ?- make me an offer around £200.00 .
Rhino
Hey Rhino,
I remember seeing this amp of yours, and yes the cas is a bit tatty, but I wouldn't call it very rough.
I'm sure it could be tidied up without too much trouble.

I know it is on the heavy side and wondered if it would fit in an SKB type rack. That would save on weight and the need to resfurbish the case.

I also remember the Dynacord rig you had back in the seventies. Quality!

12.
Any makers mark on the inside?

Do you know where it was built?
The label is missing, you can see where one was.

The number V11 is stamped inside on the back.

I've been trying to find out it's origin with no luck.

All I've been told it's an old dance band bass probably from Germany.

13.
Ooh superb piece of equipment there Keith.
Unfortunately travelling plans & finances rules me out
of this for the time being, i'm sure by the time i get myself
in order this will be long gone.

I must say though that Keith is a top top man & is a very genuine,
he always keeps his gear in top condition, looking at the piccys
it looks as new.

Anyway enough of the waffle i'm nearly talking myself into buying it !!

Best of luck with the sale Keith.
Cheers Bernie

14. Little used Baby Baby Blue combo needs new home.

The Redheads little brother. Valve pre-amp.

Great for upright or bass guitar, small to medium venues or studio.
This is much more than a practice amp!
