2. let me know your email address bro and i'll drop you some pics.its a double humbucker sting/stanley clarke fretted job. this was my first ever bass! bought it in 93' and had it ever since.also it's actually 1981 (just found out by the S/N) and with a separate active EQ. Cheers mate..D
Tell me about your Musician! What model is it, and for what price would you be willing to let it go? Pics would be appreciated too
3. i'd buy it tomorrow but i'd need to sell a bass or two first.only just noticed your bass for sale. Got a natural maple neck 1977 jazz all original, Zon sonus 4 spalted maple top, a 79 ibanez musician and a few more (all lefties of course).none of these would take long to shift especially the jazz.obviously this would be no good if you need the money straight away but if you had a couple of weeks i could even put a deposit down.let me know mate as i already know a couple of guys that would snap up the Jazz.cheers..Dave
Price drop on my '84 Wal Custom. 6. Aye up mate!!! glad you're good bro.thats great you had the schecter defretted, bet it's a beast now.i'm thinking of having the modulus quantum 5 converted to a 6,its a extra wide neck, and then defretted. Got some lefty corkers.. a Zon Sonus special, Warwick thumb 5 B/O (which is awesome) etc. The one ive gotta say is the Sandberg i had build for me!! Its a California JM lake placid blue with black hardware, but i requested a 3 band Eq. Its got the Marcus tones and with the 3 band you can dial a lovely mid funky jaco fingerstyle funk tone. its great us lefties can cavort here.got some good pieces coming up for sale soon. take it easy pal..D
Hi Dave How you keeping buddy? 12.
Simple question: Having decided to go back to a jazz after having a go with a Stingray, should I shell out £250 on a cheap (eg Squire CVJ, VMJ, or Fender MIM) and put some mods on it or just spend the extra on a nice Japanese or US one? I'm quite into the idea of doing some of my own mods, but can't help but wonder whether the 'cheapness' will show itself in things I can't really influence (i.e. fret dressing, neck-body joint, deadspots etc...) What d'ya reckon?
Have you cheched out SX basses. They are great quality for the money.D
 13. My pedal boards worth more than my motor. In fairness though i only paid £150 for the car!!
 14. I've ordered a LAKE PLACID BLUE CALI jazz 4 Lefty with a Hipshot D Tuner from PMT brum for the Chili's Tribute i play in. Ive played a couple and fell in love.i've got a feeling i'll end up using it on a lot more projects. Seriously good basses and great prices for superb handbuilt instruments.
 15. H i Jamie!! i have a 77 Fender Jazz and it's awesome mate.I own a Modulus,Zon,Warwick Thumb, Carvin Etc! the Jazz is a weapon of choice for most projects i do so there is certainly great late 70's fenders out there,it sounds and plays lovely.i've had so many comments on it's sound from sound engineers.D Just wondered what years were good years for Fender during the 70's? I'm going to save up for an old Fender. I've seen a '78 Precision that's in awesome condition, played it and it's sweet, but didn't know if the late 70's ones were any good or not? Ideally i'd like a Precision with a Jazz pickup in the bridge and a Jazz neck (block inlays)...but the P/J pickup thing is the most important!!! Any advice on what years would be good for both Jazzes and Precisions, i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks Jamie
16.
Flea never played a MM on record apart from when using a 5....I think for BSSM he used a Spector?
He used a WAL mainly on 'BSSM'. He used a Stingray 4 on 'AEROPLANE' (according to interview Bass player mag 96) and an Alembic Epic on rest of 'One Hot Minute'.Also a Stingray 4 & a Spector was used on 'Mothers Milk'.
 17.
To be honest they hardly have any UK market at all, I'm not aware of any UK dealer either .
P.M.T in birmingham are dealers of these basses! D

 19.
I am left handed and play left handed basses. I too used to get very frustrated with this but i have learned that finding your ideal bass is a lot more rewarding because you have to work for it. I am proud of my collection as i have battled hard to find it i feel like i have some very unique basses. what does wind me up is the upcharge that companies charge. i think spector charges like ten or fifteen per cent on lefty models which is sick if you are already paying a fortune. the result is i avoid spectors. Fender are another one and there policy on jazz basses does my head in they sell mex lh jazzes, japan lh jazzes american deluxe jazz basses but the wont make a regular american jazz left handed even tho they will do a p bass american grrr result i wont buy fender products. I check ebay every day i search the internet all the time and if i see something i want at a good price i buy it i tend to buy it second hand that way if i dont like it i can gey my money back easier. heres a tip leftybass.com dont no if you have seen it. if i saw my dream bass on there i would be willing to go try it out and get it even if it meant traveling in europe. Andrew
hey mate!! as a lefty who has a 77 jazz, modulus quantum 5, 79 ibanez musician, gb spitfire 4 loads more (even a lefty upright clifton bass) seriously check out Sandberg basses!! they come left handed no charge and will custom build you anything and the prices are ace.ice ordered a california m/j pickup fretless 4 from p.m.t in birmingham and told it'll be 2 months.check em out pal
I'm thinking about picking another of these up after selling my FX25B a while back. I'm leaning towards the FX25 because I didn't really use the blend control much. How does it compare apart from the blend? I'm also curious about the 440. Okay, they're more difficult to come by, but other than that and the Radiohead thing, is there any other reason they are so much more expensive? How do they compare with the FX25 pedals?
The filter i've been using for a while is the Boss Dynamic Filter and its awsome!! why boss discontinued in the late eighties i'll never know.it sounds great and you can add an expression pedal to it.Flea used one live for years.i got mine of ebay and when i saw another i bought another as a spare just in case.you can usually pick one up on ebay.ive had a dod fx25 and it was ok but never worked very well with active basses and lacked bottom.look out for a dynamic filter mate for instant funk
