  1. Hi all, The title says it all really, After reading the usual blurb on the website I was thinking of getting one of these once my current rig is sold, any opinions or experiences would be much appreciated until I get to try one out and listen for myself. Cheers Gui.

  3. Cheers bud, Just not getting out enough to justify it these days.
  4. Bump, for a great rig. Anyone interested, trades welcome......
  5. Hi all, Have decided to take the plunge and sell my trace rig. This is a simple case of no longer having enough use or space to justify such a large setup. The head is an AH500-7 and the cabs are both pre-Gibson 1048's The top cab in the pics has the original drivers but the bottom cab as had them replaced with celestion green labels about 24 months back, I bought both of these from other BC forum members thorneybank (top cab) and bobbyK (bottom cab). Both are 8 ohms and sound great, although I will admit there are some minor cosmetic issues with both, but nothing a tidy up wouldn't fix. With regards to the head unit, it is in mint condition and was bought from neath music as an ex demo, I also have the bfc-4 footswitch to go with it. This really is a great rig, not immense power but more than enough at 500w, moves shed loads of air and has loads of presence. I am happy to sell these off individually or as a whole rig, I am open to trades for lightweight 1x12's / 2x12 as I'm looking to downsize or a six string bass with some cash either way, so let me know what you have as bait. Head unit: £350 including footswitch Cabs: £220 each (ONLY ONE CAB LEFT - BOTTOM ONE IN THE PICS) [b]HEAD + CAB + CABLES + FOOTSWITCH: only £530![/b] I'm based on the wirral, and would inevitably prefer pick up but couriers can be arranged. If anyone would like more detailed pics or has any questions, then just let me know. Thanks for looking, # edit - additional pics on Page 3 (not that type though) # Gui [attachment=120268:amp 3.jpg][attachment=120269:amp 5.jpg]
  6. Cheers guys, Hadn't considered yamahas until you mentioned them, but have just read some reviews and they come highly recommended. Will be off to try out both yamaha and Ibanez (SR5006e looks stunning - tad pricey though!), Has anyone got an opinion on/played an ESP Ltd B206sm??? Thanks again.
  7. Definitely a lovely bass, just out of my budget I'm afraid.
  8. Hi all, Have recently decided to move onto a 6 string bass, as I'm playing more funk and R & B, with only ever having played a 4 string I'm not looking to spend a great deal on my first 6 string but would like to get a good mix of quality and value. Budget wise I have between £300-£500ish. I would really appreciate it if any of you could give me some recommendations. Cheers.
  9. Welcome from Oxton, Was thinking of the TC stuff myself, any downsides??
  10. Anyone interested? Anyone got any questions?? Anyone got an old trace 4x10 they would like to trade? Cheers.
  11. Hi All, I have decided to put up my Trace 1818 for sale or trade. I have owned it for about 10 years now and have regularly giged with it, it has never let me down providing great lows every time. I listed this cab a while back and withdrew it as I just couldn't part with it, but would like to have another 4x10 to go with the one I have. I would like £200 for it or would do a straight swap/trade for an old Trace 4x10 like the top cab in the pics. The 1818 is 300W @ 8ohms, making it a great extension if your using a 2x10 [sharedmedia=core:attachments:72345] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:69009] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:69008] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:69005] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:69003] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:69002]
  12. So here it is, my offering to the Trace Elliot Gear Porn thread. AH500-7 head, 4X10 1048 Circa 1992, 1x18 1818. recently bought the 1048 from Thorneybank (up in scotland) another site member, and it is in excellent condition and sounds awesome. [attachment=72345:TRACE_RIG.jpg]

  15. LOL! Yeah the 18 is a monster in both sound and weight!, no castors on it though it is however now off the market......decided to keep it and combine it with a 4x10 Trace. The 2x10 is still for sale though if any one is interested........

  19. Cheers for the replies. have found some more suitable drivers, and had a good chat with the guys at Blue Aran, and I'm edging towards a Fane Colossus 18B. has any one used one of these or have any other recommendations? Cheers Gui.
  20. Hi All, am looking to replace the driver in my 1818 trace elliot cab. is it just a case of a straight swap if the ohmage etc are the same or is it more complicated than that? also the only 18" drivers that i can find are the eminence delta and sigma pro and cellestion ftr, these seem to be listed as PA speakers but would they be ok in my bass cab? cheers in advance for the help. Gui.
