2. Lovely bass, dealt with Sam earlier this year on a trade, nice honest chap and very helpful with my amp purchase (after playing his) glws Simon
3. This is a beauty, just read a really good review on them too. Must resist.....
4.
Wait! Just realised... is this really an ahem... "excuse" for buying another bass? If so... go for it, you don't want to scratch your baby!
Damm don't let my girlfriend see that!
5. The last show we played I fell off the drum stage and nearly smashed the head on a monitor so I was edging towards a cheaper bass for these shows. And yeah i know basses are made for playing but I gig it all the time in my other band,my point was I can't find a cheaper bass that's any good after the MM. Have painted my old p bass and now look forward to road wearing this at shows, I think there is nothing wrong with wanting my mm as mint as possible for as long as possible,I doubt il ever buy another £1400 bass! I look forward to drinking too much and not worrying about my p bass from now on,especially how cool they look worn in. Although its now baby blue which ain't very punk :-p
6. So I don't wanna keep going on about it but I really, really rate my EBMM sterling. Iv had her since January and I can't actually fault a single thing. Now this is a good thing but also has its negatives, I want a bass I can use in a punk band I'm in without worrying about light damage so I'm on the hunt, spent hours in the music shop playing loads of different 'cheap' basses, but everything I played was just so 'nothingy' compared to my sterling, even the much loved CV jazz bored me. The sound was nothing to write home about and the weight (compared to the sterling) was heavy,I don't even play my old beastly p bass cuz the neck is massive! I news to open my mind, help me! Has anyone else suffered from this?! I guess I'm lucky really and I should shut up! Si
7. I will be recording with my MM sterling soon and can't wait to compare it to previous P bass recordings. I can't fault my sterling's sound,so versatile, the slap sound with the 3 way pick selector in he middle is probably the best iv ever heard (although my playing certainly isn't!) I really don't know why the Sterling is so uncommon compared to the ray, I can't see how the ray could be better but guess its horses for corses and all that
8. Hi mate will take the screws off you. If you could PM your payment details I will pay you Saturday morning when I'm back at a pc,unless paypal is ok cuz I can do that on phone. Cheers Si
9. Hey all, have got some second hand vintage modified pick ups for my budget project and there is the usual earth wire which goes underneath bridge, all good, but there is also another random wire with a circular 'screw plate' on the end, anyone know what this is and where it attaches? Also came with a tiny screw for it but this could have been put in my mistake Cheers Si

11. Oo I like that. Good luck with the sale
12. Bump from another sterling owner,I literally can't stress how good these basses are. The eq and 3 way selector are so good and give you so much tone control its un real! Glws
13. Hey all looking to swap my maple on maple mighty mite precision neck for a jazz neck. Gone back to my old project squier and the neck is huge (after playing my MM sterling since Jan) hit me up people! Pics tomorrow Si
14. Wanted to keep this secret as iv been seriously considering it but after playing my MM sterling I last night I just can't see the point on another bass so... Cash convertors Acton have a Classic Vibe jazz for £170 (even with PnP for 15) gotta be a good deal for someone! It's on their guitar website, cash convertors rock or something
15.
Ive never owned or even tried a squire, only cos it dont say fender on the headstock... Think i may well give one a go after reading this thread, Anyone got a lefty for sale??
There is a left handed VM jazz in sunburst on Gumtree at the mo,think its like £125 which is a bargain
16. I think the only major worry is how the pick ups were put in and any damage that may have caused. lovely colour though, and the necks on these CVs are beautiful to look at imo
17. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=320937626832&index=19&nav=SEARCH&nid=38124669177 These are awesome basses and never come up in blue, needs abit of work but gotta be worth a punt
18. Cheers for replies. I have a my MM sterling for a tech stuff and this band is simple picked punk. I saw jack Bruce last year, swear he had a fretless warwick and I really didn't like the tone, thought maybe it was due to too much treble on a fretless?! Would defo go for a lined one
19. Hey all, been thinking of getting a cheaper bass to use in the punkier of my two bands and just wondered can you play fast heavy punk on a fretless?! And does playing one require a lot more skill as I guess the notes have to be played perfect as to be bang on the note. Have never played one as you can probs guess! Any advice would be great Si
20. That paint job on the jazz is awesome! If it wasn't fretless I would be on that, wonder what the band mates would say! Bump for 3 great prices
21. Hi mate, don't suppose you would know if a Mighty Mite neck would fit the body? Presume its a fender size as had it on my old P bass Si
22. Hi all, have 2 Ashdown cabs for sale,a abm 2x10 deep cab, rated at 350w and a abm 1x15 at 400watts. The 1x15 is actually an abm combo with the amp space blanked off (covered in tolex) as the amp head has died :-( last year it had a replacement Eminence driver at a cost of £150,has castors too. Looking for £150 each or both for £285 collected from MK18 buckingham. Both are pretty mint Si 07533 371648
