  1. The XT is an amazing bit of kit.

I sold my XT Pro when I got my Mark Bass rig and I miss it hugely.

I shall replace it with an X3 Pro as soon as I can.

  2. I used to use a Boss EQ20 double pedal thing.

I used 3 basic settings - Off, bass boost, treble cut for dub type things, mid boost for solo passages.

    It was very good.

  3. The early status models (3 knob) weren't really active TBH. The circuit was more of a subtle level boost.

I have a SD QP P-bass pup in between the 2 status J's on my Energy fretless and it sounds lovely. Very growly indeed.

  4. Never had that issue with my XT.

But when connecting to a hi-fi all types of weirdness happen. The cab modelling fights with the hi-fi speakers - and the speakers just can't cope with a 'non-compressed to buggery' signal in this digital CD world.

I can't wait for the X3 rack! Deffo going to get one!

  5. I got the proper Hysteria sound with my Bass Pod XT. Didn't need anything else - but I also got very close with an Ampeg SVT BSP for the clean low and high drive mixed with a Big Muff for the low and low mid drive.

When I still had the Rig of Doom Version 2 (V3 is being assembled at the moment - this time Mark Bass powered) I used the Bass Pod Pro XT and the Ampeg SVP BSP.

Both units can mix clean with filth so I effectively ran 4 sounds (1 clean and 1 dirty mixed per cab).

The POD X3 will actually let you mix 2 totally different amp models together too - might be worth a look.
