Possibly my fav rig of all time, just a bit old and heavy these days but it sounds so good. Depending on how i feel will decide what bass i use but usually its my Geddy Jazz or Godin PJ with occasional Warwick Thumb when i fancy something special. Dave

whereabouts in Scotland are you Pete ? Dave

Asked to audition for a Magnum tribute band next weekend but i'm not 100% sure it will get enough gigs. Will have a think about it over this weekend and take it from there. I kinda had in in mind i was gonna just retire but hey ho. Dave

I'm just a youngster in comparison. 64 until March. Dave

See what you mean with the smoke machine there Look on the bright side it was very atmospheric and kinda suited the music. Well done after 2.5 rehearsals. Dave

So sorry to hear this. Not a good week for you by any means but hopefully in 6mths you'll be back gigging again. Take care and keep us posted on how things are going for you. Dave

You take care sir. Dave

I'm actually quite touched that quite a few have commented on enjoying my gig posts. That means a lot to me. Loved the "travelogue" comment. I'll always be on BC. Its my 2nd home even before Faceache. Dave

All on good terms and i have offered to cover all gigs to the end of the year if need be. I'm sure there are better players out there but i very much appreciate your comments. Dave

Cheers Pete, the platforms never really bothered me after first few gigs with them but that wig didn't half cause you to quickly overheat especially in the summer gigs. Won't miss that bit at all. Dave

I did but its with 2 of the members from the Glam band so it would feel a little awkward for me so thought best just to walk away from gigging until i see if i want to get back into it. Dave

It'll be odd not putting in my gig posts altho i do rabbit on a bit when i do them Dave

That's kind of where i am. 65 next month and don't really fancy starting a new band having to learn and practice all the new songs again. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and getting others to that level takes a lot of time and effort. Dave

After 7 yrs with the Glam covers band i've decided its time to call it a day. Few decisions in the band i wasn't entirely happy with and after losing sleep worrying about it i thought best to step aside and let someone else take over. Its always been a hobby for me and have always said when it becomes more like a job its time to walk away. I've offered to cover any gigs up to the end of 2025 or a replacement is up and running. Whichever comes first. Shame as i did enjoy playing in the band but that's life and it will allow me to spend more time on other hobbies. On one hand i'm kind of relieved and on the other hand i'll miss the good fun we had at gigs. Not sure yet but don't think i'll be looking for another band to join. I'll still be following everyone on BC tho and might be selling off some of the gear i've collected over past few yrs. Dave

I guess i'm in the minority not using Spotify. No particular reason other than i prefer to have a CD than a download. Dave

Saw them quite a few yrs back and they were superb then. Dave

Not normally Daryl but we do the occasional one. We have a regular spot at the Hot-Rods in the Borders annual weekend event at a holiday park. We were originally asked by the holiday park to play a Sat gig and these guys just happened to be there that weekend. They enjoyed it so much they asked us to play it again the following year but we were booked that weekend so they moved their event to coincide with our diary and we're booked at their event again this year. The first year it was busy but not full but the 2nd time the venue was full. Hopefully a busy one this year again. Done a few biker Rallies oddly enough one is in Feb just 1.5 miles from my house. Very handy for me. Nov and Dec is the Glam band busiest period with Fri and Sat night gigs most weekends now including Hogmanay party night. Typically we get an average 1-2 gigs a month with the Glam band. I decided to leave the punk band and i think its now folded completely. That's why i went with the classic rock covers band too which is at rehearsals stage. Hopefully ready mid summer. You don't get many outdoor festival gigs in Scotland because of the unpredictable weather. I have literally had snow, wind rain and glorious sunshine all in the same day during May a few yrs back while on a short holiday at Loch Ness. Dave

I was getting a bit paranoid that maybe the band weren't doing as good a show as i thought and folks were maybe not into it now. From what you guys are seeing it looks like its a common theme this year. On one hand i feel better but on the other a bit saddened things are heading this way. Hopefully things will pick up for us all. Dave
