  1. Nice wee song from Gustobassman on TB site just for you @Reggaebass Thoroughly enjoyed it and the vid aint too bad either. Dave
  2. I only know The Mission hits i'm afraid but any vids from the gig please post one and lets hear how it sounded. I would really like that kind of night. Dave
  3. Old Goth band and mandolin dont seem to go hand in hand but sounds lie you had a great time. Dave
  4. Fantastic gig with the punk band at the Thistle Bike Rally in a Hotel literally 1.5miles from my house. Shame my car got blocked in on 3 sides in car park and i had to get the organisers to chase up the owners. Band was on top form tonight. Few minor mistakes ....... by everyone but not noticeable by audience. Dancers on the floor from the first song. Great PA and Sound Engineer who loved the tone i was getting from my Sandberg Marlowe and the Mesa bass rig. Another bass player came up to me at the end and said the bass sounded so sweet and every note was clear but deep. We also got offered another bike rally in May but we need to check the calendar and another possible gig in July from it. All in all its been a great night. I'm happy tonight. Next gig on Sunday afternoon with the Glam Rock band. Dave
  5. Always my first choice when looking for new gear. Never had any issues. Dave
  6. I got to see it and hear the song again so that's a plus for me LOL
  7. Its worth sharing twice anyways. Brilliant band, saw them support Robert Plant and met Francis Dunnery in the lounge area after their set when he came over to our table and sat with us for quite a while chatting. Terrific guy and phenomenal player. Dave
  8. Hi Rob i already have this one downloaded so i'm guessing you've posted before. Dave
  9. Brilliant album Cheers Rob.
  10. I've never heard the bass version but our drummer in late 80's used his Simmons kit thru a Dynacord combo and they sounded fantastic. I just remember them being the ultimate in bass amps at the time. Couldn't afford one. GLWTS Dave
  11. Sunday afternoon gig at Rocknrolla's in Paisley Glasgow went quite well. Not a large crowd by any means but all into punk music and a few that were surprised just how many of the songs they recognised. Fantastic venue if anyone is looking to book a gig in Paisley, Glasgow area. Converted church but very well done and laid out. Sound Engineer Paul was 1st class and had the band rigged up to PA very quickly and all done very politely with no hassle at all. Sound check was done as you would expect with great comms from SE to the band. All in all a first class job, good PA and foldback system. Made a few mistooks in songs i've never had an issue with before so i was a bit surprised. Had one senior moment where i totally forgot what i play during guitar solo but i ad libbed on root note and seemed ok. We even had a "band room" with sandwiches and cold drinks including beer if you weren't driving all supplied. We split our fee evenly with the Sound Engineer getting a share as he did a fantastic job for us. Started at 1:15pm for 1hr then 20min break and back on all finished circa 4pm and home for 6pm. It was weird doing a Sun afternoon gig and being home for 6pm. Have a similar gig next Sun with the Glam rock band in another venue. Dave
  12. Nothing tonight but an odd Sunday afternoon gig tomorrow at Rocknrolla's in Paisley, Glasgow with Emergency Exit classic punk covers band. New venue for the band in a converted church so really looking forward to it. PA and lights supplied too. Nice. Dave
  13. You gotta tell us who it is Dave
  14. Looks like an impressive bit of kit. Does it sound SS as the Handbox has a nice warm tone that i have only based on your vids. Dave
  15. Got a Sunday afternoon 1pm gig this Sunday coming with the 70's punk covers band........... in a converted church. What amp is that in the pic @wateroftyne. Dont recognise it at all. ? Dave
  16. Putting a comment to that pic............................"I told you not to record it" just comes to mind Dave
  17. i wasn't aware the Vigier Aperge pick ups had their own EQ. that must be quite a busy bass. I'm off to google a pic of that one LOL Just googled it and its not busy at all. So how does it work for each pick up. Very curious now. Dave
  18. Since buying my MarloweDK i use the tone quite a lot depending on songs. Volume at either 95% or 100%. I usually start a gig at 95% and well.............you know how it goes with levels in a band. Balance is always mid point. The tone pot on the Marlowe is more a treble cut apparently or i'm sure i read that somewhere but it does give a great variation in tones. Dave
  19. I've got 2 Sandbergs and have to say the hardware is pretty good on mine. The tuners are far better than my Fenders. The MarloweDK tuners especially are so smooth even compared with my VM4. Bridge is a bit fiddly but the quality is good enough for me. Dave
  20. Excellent Dave
  21. That's nice and Alain was one of the main reasons i went for my Overwater custom fretless 6er. Just wish i could play like him but i do try some of his fingerstyle lines. Not so much his slap technique cause i'm not very good at it. Cheers for this one Rob. Dave
  22. All i've heard is Spring 2022. Hopefully i'll get my TT800. Dave
  23. Nice one @Lozz196
  24. Yep that's it. Dave
  25. There was a guy into his effects pedals in a big way and i think played as a solo bassist. I cant recall his name tho but he offered a lot of good advice on his pedals. Not seen him comment for a long time ? JTUK & Xiddix i also remember and recall advice and sharing comments with both. Dont recall any worrying or concerning issues with JTUK. He was always helpful as far as i can remember. I tend to take people at their word and if someone tells me they are doing something or know someone i generally just accept it. I can vaguely remember an issue that some people had on BC 5-6 yrs ago but for the life of me i cant recall what it was all about. Must have been important then Dave
