6. Just learnt "long road to ruin" by the Foo fighters. I'm finding it much easier to learn a song I actually like as opposed to cheesey crowd pleasers!
7.
Well done. What's the band and the music?
Don't have a name yet...........Expect post " Band name needed" Music is quite diverse, from rock to mush, as there's a chick singer. Just the experience I need to progress.,
8.
Mega congratulations and have fun with the new songs. What have you got to learn by Weds? Peter
Pretty simple stuff by Pink, Cult, spin docs, etc I know I can handle it, just well stoked to get the position
9. Went to an audition for a band last night. Was really apprehensive, but knew I’d learnt the 4 songs they asked me to do, so gave it my best shot and got the job! Absolutely over the moon. Definitely makes all the work worthwhile. Now, just got to learn another 4 songs before Wednesday! Big thanks to Old Git for his help and support, it’s really appreciated.
10. At the worst time possible, my active bass (Yamaha BB615) seems to be draining the battery extremely quickly. While playing for 5 - 10 mins, the volume dropped quite a bit. I changed the battery, and within 20 mins, the same thing happened again. Has anyone any experience of this happening? Are there any checks I can do on the electrics? And is it possible to play without a battery in, without wrecking anything? (I've an audition for a band on Wednesday and I NEED my guitar working!!!) Any help appreciated, Col
11. I want to start recording my playing onto my computer, adding bass, guitar and vocals, but I don’t have any gear like the Pod etc. What is the easiest (cheapest!) method of doing this? What additional hard/software is required to get decent results? Cheers
12. Superb to deal with. Took time to explain the workings of the Peavey amp I bought from him. Nearly gave me a refund too Would have no hessitation dealing with him anytime.
13. I like "guitar guitar" in city ctr. Plenty of stock and knowledable staff. Windows is just too expensive.
14. Had the pleasure of doing a deal on Niks Yamaha BB615 bass. Nothing but praise for the guy. Kept me updated with info, even over the weekend, and delivered EXACTLY what he said he would. Total stand up guy whom I would deal with anytime, and reccomend to anyone. Cheers, Col
15. Just stop playing during a song and see what happens

18. Well, rang the guy up last week. He seemed pretty positive. Said he'd ring me back Aint heard anything more so perhaps it's a no. Anyway, will start looking for more adverts for bassists. Also, last night at the buskers club I go to, the regular bassist didn't turn up, only me and another 'beginner' where there. Had a great time playing along to stuff I'd never attempted before. Well outside my comfort zone which I think is what I need.
19.
Do it before your get tied down with Mortgages/Kids etc then you'll have no time to do it!
too late for that mate
20. Greetings one and all. After being on BW for ages and getting lost, I've at last found home. Been playing for about 18 months, took some lessons to get rid of bad habits, highly reccomend lessons! Looking forward to gleaming good info from here like before. Keep a'had.
21. Cheers Guys. Much appreciated. I've player a couple of songs in my mates band, but it's a bit different with someone you don't know, plus, learning 1 or 2 sets worth of material will be a mega steep learning curve. Will give a local guy a ring tonight. I'll let you know how it goes!
22. Greetings all, Been hanging around a while and thought I'd better pipe up! I'd like to join a band, but when is it a good time to do so? My tutor says, no problem go for it, and I'm playing regulaly at buskers venues, but it's having the bottle to cross the line to join a group I'm having issue with. Whadd ya reckon?
