Right, I think I'll stick with the peavey for now and get something small or maybe just a headphone amp for practising at home. I've just started out again on bass, (see my profile for more info) so it may be best if I take it one step at a time. Thanks to all for your input.

Little update on some spec of my bass. Width at nut: 40mm (1 9/16ths inch) Width at 12th fret: 55mm (2 1/8th inch)

Hi, This is my 4th rehearsal playing bass with not just this band, but any band. Ever! And only the 3rd rehearsal with a drummer. So, I'm a bit rusty, the sound isn't good etc etc etc, blah blah blah, but what the hell! We're all friends here aren't we? So here goes.... Be nice

As for the Peavey, I'll keep it for sure. It's a workhorse, built like a tank (and weighs about the same as one!). I'll look into other options for home practice, such as headphone amps, or a mini amp like the LD15 you have. Cheers.

So, is there any other small combo amp that could be used for gigs? I'm pretty new to rehearsing and gigging, and the gear aspect of playing bass. I bought the TNT150 years ago when I was young and naive when really what I needed at that time was something like the Studio 110 but that wasn't around then!

Been reading a lot about this amp. Seems to be a favourite amongst the forum, but is it enough to gig with, both in terms of FOH and as my monitor? I've been thinking about getting a practice/home/headphone amp, but if the Studio 110 could do it all then that would be great! Could it replace my TNT150? Thanks

By the way, I play this with a D on the A string, then open A, then B on the A string, then G on the E string, but then I go back to the B and slide up to the D which gives the the slide sound. Having said that, I will have a go at the one string method in the video.

Oooh, I know this one! You need to slide the GATE slider up until the hissing stops, usually at about the 50 mark, it depends on the gain of your instrument I guess. It's just a noise gate.

Well, the Hartke is £150 while the Pathfinder is less than half that, and price is a factor for me at the moment. I found other threads that mention the Amplug, but nothing on the Pathfinder.

Hi, I've been thinking about getting a little plug in headphone thingy for practicing. I've seen the Vox amplug bass device and thought it looks pretty cool. I'm sick of lugging my TNT 150 upstairs inbetween rehearsals. Again, Vox do a nice little amp called the Pathfinder 10 Bass. The only 'phones I have are my hifi ones and they're £90 so I don't wanna damage them.

I bought a pair of ER20's recently (Our drummer is ever so loud) but when I wear them I find the bass a little hard to follow. It's like everthing's turned down, which is what I wanted of course, but the bass seems to get lost a little bit. Maybe I should just turn my amp up?
