  1. Musicman USA Sterling 1996 and MM case

This is one of a pair of Sterling’s I own - this has an unusual beautiful flame to the neck. It is all original and plays superbly with a versatile preamp. It’s a good weight at 4.3kgs and is in a metallic blue finish. Frets are excellent and the trussrod works as it ought to. Action is nice and low. This bass sings! There are some cosmetic dings and scrapes to the body however the neck is perfect.

No trades sorry, pickup preferred but I can post at buyers cost in the UK only.

Selling because of an impending house purchase - I don’t really need two of them!

  2. I got this a few months ago as a summer project however work and house moving means it’s been neglected. Time to move it on. It’s an Epiphone Dot 335 type semi in good condition however the front has been rather amateurishly repainted in a ‘Pelham blue’. I think it could be stripped to reveal the original tobacco sunburst or stickered or generally customised to your own tastes. It’s a good guitar and plays well with no other issues apart from a knob that doesn’t match. Case is worn but does it’s job.
Can post in the UK at cost. No trades.

  3. It’s a Stagg EUB in good condition. There are a few minor dings to the paintwork. One of the attachment ‘arms’ is missing - but I’ve never used them anyway. It has been shielded so no hum from the preamp. It’s been fitted with a very nice set of Pirastro strings and plays really well. The preamp gives quite a convincing double bass sound when played live. I can’t use it as a result of a tendon issue. It comes with a nice Stagg gigbag.
It’s pretty big and delicate so pickup only from Lancaster U.K. No trades.

  4. Black and maple 2003 Fender US Precision Bass with original case. This instrument was my main bass for some time but a tendon issue means I’ve switched to a slimmer necked Musicman. The Precision weighs around 4.1kgs and is in great condition. The nut was replaced some years ago by Jack’s instruments repairs in Manchester. It’s the version with graphite rods and the S1 switch but this was bypassed and a normal pot replaced the switch - I’ll include the original so that it can be restored to stock. The original case booklets are included. The case has a few stickers on it but is sound. The bass is wonderful I have nearly sold it a couple of times but changed my mind but it hasn’t been played since I got my Musicman and I have an older P bass that has the sentimental attachment.

There are scuffs and dings and one touched up spot near the strap button - as pictured. Neck is lovely with two minor dings and the trussrod turns and works as it ought to.

There is a little lacquer chip and a hairline crack at the fingerboard end where the trussrod access is - this has been checked and it is cosmetic only.

I may regret selling this one as it’s been the best modern era Precision I have owned.

No trades, pickup preferred. I can post but at cost to buyer. A lovely USA Precision for under £800!

Argh. Really fancy a USA Fallout, but just not sure about the colour/stripe…..maybe at the right price I could also afford a refinish....

The stripes are not to everyone’s taste but the finish is certainly eye catching and personally I think they contrast nicely against the yellow finish.

G&L short scale US goodness for a great price bump!

  6. This is the lovely US built launch edition of the short scale G&L Fullerton Fallout bass in a rather fetching ‘racing yellow’. These racing stripe versions with the matching headstock were apparently a limited run.

This is a really east bass to play - the neck is very fast and I’d say much better than the Tribute version of which I sold to get this.

It is in excellent condition and is strung with heavy gauge round wounds from Daddario. There are some minor marks and a dent on the upper bout which has bruised the lacquer. This is only cosmetic of course. No issues with the trussrod. The bass doesn’t come with a case or bag but will be well packed if posted.

I’ve included a pic comparing the size of it with a full scale Musicman bass. Although it’s a 30’’ scale with 19 frets it has a large body. The balance is perfect, tones are powerful and flexible and the weight is 4kgs which is easy on the shoulder.

I’m selling because my short scale experiment started with and ended with my Ric 3000 - which I’m keeping.

This is a well put together US made short scale bass that doesn’t look like a toy on a bigger player but is manageable for players of all sizes. The E has plenty of punch and the intonation is perfect.

I’d recommend watching Ed Friedland  AKA The Bass Whisperer’s YouTube demo which definitely sold this bass to me. See link.

No trades sorry, UK only. Pickup preferred although I can post at buyers cost. Reduced to £725.

  7. Orange Little Bass Thing bass amp.

It’s near new and was bought as a backup. Lovely amp purchased recently and used in rehearsal once. It’s seriously loud and really huge sounding but a bit too powerful for my needs so I’ll stick with my Markbass combo. The compressor is really useful and it’s got a comprehensive eq section too. Comes boxed. I can post in the UK for £15. I’d trade for a Markbass Little Mark head.

500 Watt, Single Channel bass amp head

    Class D Power Amp

    Foot-switchable Compression (footswitch sold Separately)

Variable Input Sensitivity for active or passive basses

    Balanced DI Out

    FX Loop

  8. I bought this beautiful sunburst and rosewood US EB MusicMan Sterling from here recently. This is the American made Sterling not to be confused with the cheaper - albeit very well made - product line.

I love the sound and playability but I prefer the maple board on the MM Sterling that I recently withdrew from sale.

This instrument is very light for a MusicMan at around 3.8 kgs. This one was built in 1996. There are a couple of minor dings and the strap buttons are replacements.

There is a basic non Musicman case with it.

I found it more comfortable than the StingRay models owing to the narrow neck, smaller body and contouring. It’s currently wearing Daddarios. The neck is very similar to a Jazz in feel and is very comfortable, the preamp is excellent giving a wide range of useable tones.

Postage will be around £30 UK only. More pics to follow. No trades unless you have a maple board US Sterling.

  9. A few bits of eurorack for all you modular dabblers.

Doepfer Wasp Filter A-124SE as new and boxed bought around a month ago but doesn’t really fit in with my modular system. £58 posted.

    Blurb -

Module A-124 (WASP FILTER) is a special voltage- controlled multimode filter with a cut-off slope of -12dB / octave.

The special feature of the A-124 is the peculiar elec- tronic circuitry of the Wasp synthesizer manufactured at the end of the seventies by the UK company EDP (Electronic Dream Plant). This synthesizer is well known for its eye-catching black/yellow wasp design and its distinctive filter. Its circuitry "abuses" digital inverters as analog operational amplifiers leading to distortions and other "dirty" effects that generate the specific sound of this filter.

Our version is equipped with a band pass output and a combined low/notch/high pass output. For this latter output a control knob defines the relative amounts of low and high pass signals. If both si- gnals appear at the same level (i.e. middle position of the Mix knob) one obtains a notch filter. Otherwise the low or high pass signal predominates.

Resonance can be adjusted manually. The filter can't go into self oscillation, in contrast to most of the other VCFs in the A-100 system.

The cut-off frequency can be adjusted manually, or by voltage control. Two CV inputs are available.

    Frequency Central Raging Bull Module.

This has a lovely rich filter and sounds wonderful. Excellent condition, quality U.K. produced unit in standard eurorack format. Only selling as I have the Frequency Central Device X system which has one of these included.

    Price includes U.K. postage. £70.

    Blurb -

The Frequency Central Raging Bull is based on the legendary Moog Taurus Mk I VCF and VCA. It has a lovely, thick Moog-like quality, which is further enhanced by the drive you can get out of its VCA at higher settings.

A big part of the sound of the Taurus was the way in which the VCF interfaced with the VCA, so on Raging Bull the VCA is always in the audio path. A toggle switch allows you to select ‘always open’ or CV control of the VCA from CV input 1.

I can sell the whole lot together if interested. No trades sorry.
