6.
AFAIK John Peel was drafted in to mime the mandolin part on TOTP, 'cos of a MU rule about actual players being represented, or something. I think little Ronnie used Tony Zemaitis custom jobs, as did Ron of the six string variety plus his usual Fenders. I've played it hundereds of times, and still enjoy it's loose, laidback feel, which after all, is what Rod and the Faces were about. It's like "Stay With Me"..great intro, even better outro with solos all 'round, and that bit in the middle Peter
I think Ray Jackson of Lindisfarne did the Mandolin job on Maggie May and he just got session pay for it. perhaps WOT might know a bit more.
 7. I think the story is that it was Ronnie wood either stoned or drunk and basically making it up as he went along. ypu can hear a few mistakes here and there. This is close

 19. A first for me, we played to.. nobody. it was a weird place to play,a pub out in the countryside, the bar was at the other end of the pub and had about six people in it. so they might have heard us if the door was open, but between the bar and the room we were in in was a long narrow room which was empty then through an archway into the room we were in. after the first set the owner came in and apologised saying he had put the wrong date in the paper. he let us carry on until the end and and payed us the full amount. he even offered us another gig.
