  1. For sale, an Aguilar Tone Hammer DI pedal in great condition. Only a few months old. Velcro stuck to the bottom for pedalboard use. Comes with the 18V power adapter. Shipping to the UK for an extra fiver. Thanks!
  2. Who’s lucky enough to do a gig, let alone a 3 hour gig nowadays!!?
  3. Tell me more! I just got one myself but I’m still figuring it out. Seems really good already.
  4. That’s very bold. But to each their own. Looks quality though.
  5. Darkglass stuff makes you old? Well, the Helix Stomp makes me old! I’m 35, I don’t have one, I’m tempted to though, but I’d rather stick to my analog pedals for now.
  6. Phrase and timing are down to the player’s abilities. I never said a cab sim would improve that. Cab-sims improve the quality of the sound, not the flaws in one’s playing.
  7. Yeah it could be aimed at non Darkglass users... or people who own an older Darkglass pedal like the OG B7K and don’t have the built-in cab sim.
  8. The aim of a cab-sim is to make you sound good if you use any sort of distortion/fuzz/od on your bass. If you play clean, then no problem. But a distorted bass sound straight to PA with no cab-sim sounds fizzy af. And considering the fact that Darkglass is well-known for their distortions... then it makes sense for them to offer a stand-alone cab-sim.
  9. This is for people who go amp(and cab)-less on stage. Obviously if you have a full stack, nothing beats mic-ing it up. Like, I have a full pedalboard but I don’t own a gigging amp. I play with what’s available at the gig, and if it’s rubbish, I go straight to the PA. Thankfully I’m covered with cabsim as my preamp has it built-in. But for those who want to do it like that but have a preamp without cabsim, then there you go.
  10. Guys, it’s not just a headphones amp, but mainly a cab sim with customisable IR’s. You’ve got a lovely preamp with no cab sim? You use OD and distortion a lot and want to play straight into the PA without sounding like crap? Then this could be for you. Just stick it at the end of your pedalboard and use the built-in DI output.
  11. https://www.andertons.co.uk/sire-version-2-marcus-miller-v5-alder-4-string-in-natural They do. Get ready to be all over it.
  12. Finally got an update from Adrian. My bass is in progress and should be done on time. They couldn’t get Aguilar pickups for month due to lockdown and stinky poo, but they now got them.
  13. Got two Fender Players. A P and a J. Cost me 2/3rds of the price of one American Fender. They do the job perfectly.
  14. Mate, you ordered a bass with a nitro finish. It’ll get matt, it’ll get cracks. It’s the nature of nitro. It’s fragile. Yes, you don’t want that on a brand new bass. But it could (and will) happen to the bass if you gig it loads.
  15. I appreciate he’s a busy man, yet I don’t think it would take that long to reply to my questions. Again, he was super quick to reply before I placed my order. Why has that changed after I’ve ordered?
  16. As I said in the Maruszczyk thread, I ordered a bass a few months ago, still hasn’t arrived (normal, still within the timeframe), although I emailed Adrian twice this week with questions regarding my order, and no response. Whereas before I ordered he would reply within minutes.
  17. Still that’s two emails about my order....
  18. Nitro being more fragile, could that hairline crack be due to that? Like, the neck may have put some pressure on the neck joint at some point and the varnish just slightly cracked? Not something you want from your brand new bass... but it happened to my ex-US Jazz Bass years ago and it wasn’t even a nitro finish...
  19. Adrian usually is very quick to respond to emails. I emailed him on Tuesday and Thursday and haven’t heard back... I hope it’s not a « I’ve got your order so now I’m quiet » kind of policy!
  20. Ok. Good to know. What about that sofa shot then? When did you order? Was it within 15 weeks or quicker? @Gareth Hughes
  21. Yeah, worth a check with Adrian. As you said, the bass will be finished AFTER the law change... I guess the final price should reflect it, why charge me a total price with a VAT of 19% when 16% is into place?
  22. Not sure if you guys have the answer... basically Germany is reducing their VAT rates from 19% to 16% till the end of 2020. Maruszczyk has said on their website that they’ll reflect that by reducing their prices as well. Question: I ordered a bass with them in April, but I’ve only paid the initial deposit (50%). I assume that I won’t get a reduction on the other 50%, because I made the purchase before the change in VAT law? Not trying to sound like a cheapo... just wondering.
  23. Speaking of Maru's colours, I ordered mine in Charcoal Frost coz I like their approach to it, it's got more of a blue hue to it, compared to Fender's Charcoal Frost for example. Can't wait to receive it.
  24. Just placed an order through their online Configurator... Elwood C 5 string, Charcoal Frost Metallic, Alder body, Maple neck and fingerboard, Aguilar 5J-HC pickups, Delano Sonar 2 band preamp. Straightforward, hopefully good sounding Jazz Bass. Nothing fancy, just a bass to my taste.
