  1. the Sub Phatty is great and nice and hands-on. Shame the deeper functions are all buried behind weird button/key combinations (a decent MIDI controller can remedy that though). Subsequent is nice as it move lots of those things onto the panel. Doesn’t sound the same as the phatty though.
  2. Glad to hear it. It would be worth amending the title of your wanted ad to reflect this and to avoid someone else tagging or contacting you regarding a future listing.
  3. @simondee, @dgrizzle17, @sambecker1, @tayste_2000
  4. I’ve just sold @dave_says my Cali76 Bass Compressor. Seamless with all details and payment sorted in under an hour, prompt and friendly communication. Pedal is boxed up and ready to post in the morning. Many thanks, Dave.
  5. After tomorrow, I won’t be able to post this until next Wednesday so if you’re thinking about grabbing it, be aware of this.
  6. Please edit the first post to put the word “sold” in the title, which will lock the thread.
  7. I’ve been using these for a few years. Love them, though occasionally some pedals have power sockets in places which fall awkwardly within the tracks.
  8. I’ll consider a reasonable offer on this. I could really do with selling this (and a few other things) as I’ve been signed off with stress due to my son’s mental health issues and will go onto half pay at the end of next month due to having already had so much time off for cancer treatments! It’s forcing me to take a hard look at my gear.
  9. Got this beast on loan:
  10. I’m sure you all know what these are. This is the updated version of the Compact Bass with the metering LEDs. It’s also more transparent and has more bottom end. This is in outstanding condition with the original box and manual etc. I have the older version too and like them both. However I just spend ages switching back and forth between them rather than playing. I am also about to get moved onto half pay soon due to long-term sick leave so need to raise funds. Figured I could ameliorate both problems by selling the more expensive of the two pedals. Price is firm and includes next-day UK mainland delivery via Special Delivery.
  11. I sold Clarky my Shift Line Flex last night. Payment arrived under an hour after I listed it. All sorted with zero faff and has been posted off today. Many thanks. Hope you enjoy it, it’s a lovely pedal.
  12. A fantastic preamp pedal that, as the name suggests, is based on an Ampeg preamp. This has a 12AX7 tube and runs at 500mA 12V DC. If you haven’t heard of this company, they are well worth checking out. It’s a beautifully engineered machine and I own another two of their products. You can check out the full spec on their website here: https://shift-line.com/flex These rarely come up used. I waited for ages until I found this one. The pedal is in outstanding condition. It comes in the original box with the power adaptor with a couple of interchangeable plugs for different countries. I’m sorely tempted to keep it but I really don’t need 6 preamps and the other 2 tube preamps I own are more the sound I’m after. I also need to shed excess gear as I’m about to get moved onto half pay due to being on long-term sick leave. Price includes next-day mainland UK delivery via Special Delivery. More photos upon request. Nice review video here (though with the caveat that I think he had the pad engaged as the pedal is capable of much more dirt than heard in the video):
  13. Yes, it cost extra to develop and is a smaller run so unit price is higher than the regular which has been produced en masse and was designed 10 years ago.
  14. A wide switch topper might ease your anxiety. Could also swap the encoder for a less tall one. Or external switcher, which is fairly essential to add stuff like expression control anyway. There’s a TB member who said his was due to arrive today. There should be a bunch going out this week.
  15. Do you mean the Q or the Decay setting? I have my Q set at about 10-11 o’clock.
  16. Mike Beigel’s Q-Tron and 3X also improved this by adding the “mix” setting which is a fixed blend of BP and dry. The MXR BEF has a dry blend and this along with the voicing of the BP filter makes it great.
  17. I’ve not used the DI part and hence not used the built-in cab sim (though I’ve run it into sims on my Shift Line Cab Zone Bass). Remember the BP’s mid control is cut-only. I’m only using mine for lowish-gain sounds and have pretty much just dialled in a sound I like and left it there. Gone for a distinctly old-school, warm and woolly tone but with a bit more breakup. Reminds me of some old souls stuff but also some Beatles bass tones. (I’m solely using it with a passive P with labella flats.) It has a decent amount of bass but not the same as say the SV. The way I’ve got it set, the attack is slightly ramped compared to other preamps, that is, the notes sort of bloom in rather than speaking instantly. (Paired with either of the Origin bass compressors, that changes a bit.)
  18. I’m pretty sure Bootsy also uses band pass on some of the parts on the Parliament stuff, certainly sounds like it in places.
  19. Once upon a time I would have agreed with you, but the MXR Bass Envelope Filter is band pass (with dry volume and FX volume knobs) and it is glorious.
  20. I’ve been wanting to try the DCX. Not sure if you’ll get the same tones from the Black Panel though. I love my BP.
