1.
Is is I must admit it a total Ampeg clone so should sound ok simple so it should be reliable, but with the exception of the output valves, which are going to probably be junk, to fit a set of winged C's (the best) in there is going to cost another £200 so its a £800-900 quid amp really, still cheap I guess but not as much as you think, especially now you can pick up a Laney Nexus for around the same, already has decent tubes, made in the uk and does the Ampegish sound rather well after a bit of playing about and offerings from Ashdown (which are good) Organe etc are not so far away from that....
I have committed myself already to my Orange so I won't go for this one. But if not, I would give it a thought although I know that Bugera is a bit of a 'hit or mis'. And there is also the Fame BVH-300: http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/EUR/Fame-B...-BAS0002651-000 That is 630 euros for 300 tubey watts!
2. A 300 watt all valve amp, new for £622? Come on, that IS tempting!
3.
Make sure you test ALL of them before you buy. Its hard to recommend a cab as you might have different tastes
+ 1, this is the best advice.
4. I use my Orange AD200b Mk3 with two Hartke 410 XL's (the old ones, rated 240 watts @ 8 ohm, so that gives me 480 watts @ 4 ohm which I assume gives me more then enough head room). For the Terror I would suggest the newer 410 XL's (they are rated 400 watts @ 8 ohm). They give crisp highs and nice lows. And they are easy on your wallet.
5. I am using the Aguilar Agro preamp for a while now and I can tell it is a great sounding overdrive/fuzz. you just can dial in how much fuzz you want, from mild tubeness to hard overdriven. I have no experience with the stompbox version, but I haven't heard any complaints about it. Check this thread http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.p...agro&page=4 with a lot of opinions about it
6. + 1 for the Hartke suggestion. And check the 'amp for sale' section, there was a nicely priced Trace V-type combo http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=95061
7.
Well, out of my enthusiasm for the beasts, T-40's and T-60's, I have learned quite a bit. The very early ones had a line around the truss rod cover, an 8M serial number and square cases. The line was deleted after they discovered it was too difficult to apply. These are very rare! Cheers. Flat Eric.
That line around the truss rod cover was hand painted because no machine could do the tracing.

9.
Welcome. Still got the T-40? If you have, stick a pic in Gear Porn - T-40 Section. Cheers.
Of course I still have the T-40 ... it is my tank-do-all and I'l check for a pic of it. Thank you for the welcomes
10. I know ... right now the danger is in a special cab for me
11. After checking out this forum for a while, I recently decided to join in ... I know there are dangers for sudden GAS-attacks (I have been a member for some time on Talkbass) but hey, I am grown up and have already spent quite some money on bass gear. I play bass for about 15 years, starting out with a small yamaha amp and a hondo precision. I upgraded to an Aria Pro II SJP and an Ampeg combo (SVT-15T) when I joined a metal band. My gear stayed that way for several years, just an added Boss OD-3. And then the madness started :s I joined another band (hardcore/punk) so I needed some new gear So the new bass was a Cort Artisan A4, the amp was a Hartke combo VX3500. But this setup didn't really cut it for me, although it felt like a decent allrounder, but I wanted MORE! Soon the EBMM Sub4 (Teal) followed, and the Warwick Quad IV together with the Hartke XL 410's. The Italia Mondial( cream white) joined the family, just as a Peavey T-40(natural wood) , a lawsuit Rickenbacker copy (black) from the 70's, a Hohner B2A, a Gretsch Baritone guitar and a nicely priced Fender Bassman Export. But my 2 main basses I bought last: a Musicman Stingray (black with maple fretboard) and a Sandberg California JM4 (cream slightly aged) with rosewood fretboard. After those my GAS for basses was over. Ampwise I was happy with the Warwick Quad IV, but there was this craving for some serious tube power. So after seeing a few shows where the bass pounding came from a big orange box with a lot of style, I knew where to look ... Orange AD200b. I have tried a few effects: Boss ODB-3 (hey, who hasn't tried that one?), Boss CEB-3 (Chorus), Big John Granny Puker, EBS Octabass but they never made it to the band setting. Two although did: DHA VT1 (it was great untill it started to cut out and it went in for repairs and I was stupid enough to swap the tube ... after that it wasn't the same anymore ) and the Aguilar Agro preamp (rack) which stays with the Warwick in the case as my solidstate backup. A bit long for just saying hello ;-)
12. It is a 'no doubt about it' bargain ... it is the shipping that is holding me back
