1. Two Precision pickups for sale: The first is a DiMarzio collection taken from my MIJ Precision. It's supposed to be slightly better than the US vintage Japanese pickups, but I'd say it was similar. In excellent used condition, it obviously has fine pick/finger marks on it, but hasn't been abused (only about 4 months old). SOLD The second is an EMG Select pickup, this one was bought used, and has a few more marks/odd groove into the top. Perfectly usable, just never got around to fitting it!! £12 delivered SOLD to Ray!!
2. What a great guy to deal with - even sent me an extra fiver to cover postage. Item sold: Tascam Bass Trainer Do not hesitate in dealing with this guy, he is a true gent.
3.
I'll make sure I burn a copy then until everyone on this thread is satisfied I think it's mostly tutorial type stuff but I'll check later on.
Can I have a copy too? Can paypal you for the effort/postage
4. Pleasure to do business with. Pleasant, friendly bloke (bought a tuner off me) If only eBay was this hassle free...
5. Alfie - is that a standard colour? Never seen that before. Just ordered a Photo flame 3TS P fretless and a Jazz 62 in LPB to go with my Vintage White Jazz. I'll post a shot of the threesome when they arrive!
6.
anyone know offhand how much Ishibashi charges for shipping to th UK?
I bought a P Bass middle of last year. they charge 10,000 Yen for shipping in a gigbag, think it was 12,500 Yen with a hard case iirc
7.
is this still for sale??
Possibly not, just awaiting payment
8.
Just had a look at those mp3 trainers, they sound like a marvellous idea, I have to get one, can't stand using my pc to learn and practice.
Yeah they are great - loads of built in effects that are vritual - you can alter the settings like you have actual pedals...
9. I'm selling this as I got the MP3 version for my birthday It's in excellent condition and comes with the PSU. SOLD posted - would swap/part ex for a fretless neck/P body
10.
That's upgraded to a level that most decent Fender bass's won't be, and you call it a beater? unless the neck is really bad, something like that would become my main easily, scratch or not. And scratch's are mojo after all.
Maybe so, but not on a Poly body. Besides, I've got a Fender 62RI P as my main bass...
11. I've got one of the sansamp rip offs and its ace.
12. Bit tongue in cheek, but very true. Everywhere I turn people are always talking about the band they are in. I'm in a bit of a funny situation at present - been 'back' playing bass for about 7 months, but have a 13 month old daughter and work shifts, so I don't feel I can give enough time to a band situation - at least not to gig (don't even know if I want to gig anymore...too self conscious, too much of a perfectionist, too many bad gig experiences). Does anyone just jam with a band for the hell of it? If you want a bit of meaning to this thread, why do you play bass? For me, long story short, felt there was something missing for the last few years (played guitar for about 6 years, then on and off over the next 10 years). I have a stressful job and found it very difficult to switch off (bit of a worrier, see), the bass is something I can play were I completely forget about everything else that is going on in my life, and it also makes me feel like a teenager again! What's your story? What motivates you to pick up the bass? Why are there so many guitar converts? I was actually pretty good on the guitar - even did some teaching... I must appologise for the rambling
13. I've got a 62 Jazz in Vintage White (think margarine, under false light it looks bright yellow...). TBH when I first got it I thought it was awful, but the more I play it, the greater respect it seems to get!! I've replaced the bridge pickup, but the neck pickup is really high output.
14.
or an SX Jazz 5? About 150 to get it here from Rondo, leaves you £50 for the upgrades... May be a challenge but possible with used stuff from ebay
Only upgrades would be bridge and possibly tuners - if the pickups are anything like the 62 Jazz I've got they are quite hot.
15.
what model tuner??
TU300 - the grey floor pedal tuner
16.
Woah. Thread revive by 5 months. What did you go for in the end OP?
Was planning on using my new SX Jazz as an everyday bass, but slipped with the screwdriver when changing the scratchplate...so my work beater bass is an SX Jazz with tortoiseshell scratchplate, gotoh bridge, hipshot ultralites and upgraded pickups...must learn not to go near a bass with a screwdriver...(did a similar thing with a strat last year )
17.
True, I'm waiting for one from Ishibashi, very good price indeed but The basses on the Far East site always look in great condition, can't knock the guy for making a living.
Suppose that depends how much he's hoping to make...incuding customs you can get a brand new one cheaper.
18. I'm selling this as I don't play guitar anymore. Has any effect you can think of, plus it has a tube for the overdrive!! Very authentic distortion. Excellent condition - has one scratch across it were the plug had dragged when I stored it under the bed Very sturdy metal case - bit of a waste not to gig with it...there are some reviews here: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...iTech/RP-7/10/1 Never been abused/gigged. Bedroom use only. Looking for £120 posted. These were very highly regarded a few years ago. Collection possible from Hull, Yorkshire. I'll post some pictures if there's any interest.
19. Immaculate behringer tuner - the newer version. Bedroom use. Selling as I got a Korg tuner for my birthday £10 collected/£11 posted (I've a feeling the post is going to be quite expensive, but I'll cover the rest). Would swap for patch cable/double ended jacks (I've loads of pedals, and not enough connections!!). Live in Hull, Yorkshire.
20. I'm selling a few items on ebay that will let me buy a Lakland, and maybe a 5er or fretless too (maybe even both...). If I set a budget of £200 for each, what would be the best buy? I'm thinking a Squier VM for the fretless, but what about the five string...only ever played one - a Vintage that was absolutlely disgustingly crap Wouldn't want to spend much in case I don't get on with either.
21. Can you PM me a ballpark figure for the Geddy Lee - have no idea how much these fetch second hand...
22. I've used a Bass trainer for the last 6 months - it's not just highlighting the bass, but easily looping it (in my case looping for about an hour, Steve Harris basslines are maybe a bit too ambitious for me ). Just got the MP3 version, and the bass effects are FAR superior to the BT1MK2. Couple of easy ones to get you going (I've worked them out, and I've only been playing bass about 7 months) Billie Jean by Michael Jackson (there's only really one riff to work out) Have a nice day by Bon Jovi In another lifetime I used to play guitar (15 years ago) and it shocks me the amount of people these days that don't try and learn stuff by ear. I always found tabs harder and inaccurate... The secret is to set yourself a goal of learning a song or part of a song in a pratice session (and not give up until you've got it, even if it's only half a verse or something). With more complicated stuff, REALLY know the song. If you can hum the bass line, you can work it out so much easier. Livin On A Prayer (Bon Jovi) is a classic for this, and the bass line is such a huge part of the song.
23. Anyone know of a guitar shop in Yorkshire that stocks them? I'm based in Hull, but can travel... Can't decide between LPB and white subject to me liking the neck of course.
