1. Hello folks I'm thinking about getting hold of some lighter cabs. Been toying about with some set up ideas. Play indie rock music, nothing too demanding really, but do use a five string. Eying up Markbass and TC Electronic gear. Would be interested in your opinions about the two. Markbass seems more expensive, but they do a 15" cab. Quite like the look of their traveller range, 15" plus 2x10. TC gear is cheaper, seems to have a good reputation, but more limited in terms of set up. Would a 410 give enough low end? I know the best way to compare is to use your ears (or wallet in my case) but its probably going to be tough hunting down this gear in a shop nearby, so any suggestions are appreciated! Ta
2. There's a lovely Yamaha head here within your budget! Don't be put off by the title of the thread, the amp can sound heavy if you want it to, it's just easy to carry. I'm also getting rid of an old Peavy 4x10 so could prolly do a deal if you're looking for the startings of a rig.
3.
I love that colour what is it? Looks like butter creme maybe? And I think its about time I had a white pup on one of mine too!
Cheers Pete After researching some colours I thought it was butter creme, but when I gave the serial number to the boffins on the EB forums I was told it was white! I'd love to get a white pearl scratch plate for it, but I'm having some trouble finding a template for the newer style pickups.

5. Hi there! Up for grabs is my Yamaha BBT500H These are pretty popular little amps. A google search will provide you with many reviews and full specs but basics include 500W @ 2ohm or 250W @ 4ohm. Preset and programable sounds with compression and fairly thorough EQ. I bought this 2nd hand a few years ago. I bought the rack mounts and its lived in a flight case, but included in sale will be the straps if you want to lug it about or put in a bag. (Flight case and other gubbins not included in sale) I think the previous owner carried this about, as a couple of the rubber feet are missing and a few knobs have tiny flecks of paint missing, but this is all superficial and has no affect on the amp's performance. Selling because I'm looking for a 4 ohm amp to power some light weight cabs I plan to buy in the future. Per'aps a LH500 or something in that price range... Peavey 410 TX Tatty old cab, heavy and loud! 8ohm. Be aware that you won't get the full welly out of the cab running at 8ohms from the Yamaha head. I'm in Bristol and you're welcome to come and give it a blast. Can deliver the amp somewhere closish or post at your expense. Cab is collection only. 6. Cheers all! Just getting back into playing bass after a few years off. Dusted the gear down and started looking at some proper toys. Lobbing some stuff up for sale to fuel my renewed love for the hobby! I wasted 15 minutes reading a thread about plectrums... its amazing how personal this music stuff gets. Brilliant fun. Can't believe I didn't bother playing for 5 years.
7. Has anyone heard the difference between Markbass standard and traveller range? The traveller is cheaper but doesn't have any porting in 15" or 210 cabs. Would be interested in your opinions!
8. Hello Musicman owners! Being new to the forum I thought I'd share a pic of my SR5. No case action or garden action shots here I'm afraid, just pure front room and lovely iphone photo quality.
9. Hellos to all and a happy new year! I's been trailing pages in the forums for a while now. Reading reviews and window shopping etc. My skills on a guitar are fairly limited, and I expect that will extend to my posts on this site, but what the chuff - hello everyone!
10. Ah, thanks. Buy one for $100 or £100. Doesn't seem fair. Will keep my eyes peeled on the 'bay or wait for Crimbo!
11. Afternoon folks Does anyone know if such a product exists - a midi footswitch with only 2 (or 3) switches? I have a digital Yamaha amp and want to switch between patches, but the only switches I can find on the market are large expensive things with too many bells and whistles. Suggestions are appreciated!
12. If I didn't live 7 hours away I'd take the cabs off your hands - been looking for those Yamaha cabs for a while now...
