1. Yes to both..it comes with the Protech gig bag that Jimmy uses.
  2. For Sale, My Alleva Coppolo LM5 finished in period "root beer". Made in summer 2009 and ordered direct from Alleva after trying a similar bass at the NAMM Show, ash body, maple neck, block and bound with AC pick-ups and electronics. It's truly an amazing sounding bass nailing that seventies J Bass tone, its almost showroom condition with the only signs of wear being light wear on the scratchplate. Its light for an ash body bass weighing in at around 9.5 pounds on my domestic scales , based in Newcastle upon Tyne. £2500.00 (The marks that appear on the body are courtesy of a crap camera and are not on the bass, I'll try to post better pics over the next couple of days)

  6.
Fender Precision. 62 Re-issue. Crafted in Japan (CIJ), Japanese non-export model. Personal import. Considered to be superior to MIM by many people. I'd like £450 plus postage. No trades, thanks. As you can see it's Sunburst / Med red tort / Rosewood P serial number so 1999-2002, according to Guitar dater It has Japanese pickups and hardware and weighs 8.2 pounds on the bathroom scales. 40mm nut. Nice padded gig bag and Japanese owners manual/bridge hex wrench included Some small dings and things but nothing serious or particularly ugly. Full picture gallery available, just pm me. Thanks
pm'd
  7.
That's a really beautiful bass! Totally out of my price range unless you might want to trade for a Status series 2? Long shot I know...
Hey, local lad? Thanks for the offer but trying really trying to sell this one....
  8.
Weight ?
The only method available to me to measure the weight is a set of digital bathroom scales, an they read 10 pounds. So sort of medium weight for the era that the bass was manufactured in.... I have certainly played 70's Jazz basses a lot heavier than this. Also much lighter than my Fodera Imperial, Ash, Maple, Olive Wood and I know that basses weight is 10.9 pounds. Neck joint is also good considering you can park a VW Camper Van in some of them........It's a great example of a late 70's bass.
  9. For Sale, My Fender 1979 Jazz in great condition, straight neck no pulling in of the headstock. Body and neck aged beautifully, massive tone..nails all of the 70's ash maple sounds perfectly. Comes with the original pickup and bridge covers, also has the Fender tags including the inspection stamps..serial numbers on this correspond to the headstock and number on the underside of the scratchplate. Also included is the original case. A great sounding bass. £1400.00
  10.
And I've still got a '66 machine head for you boss.
Yeah I know, I'll have it....dont let it go anywhere.
  11. My 78 has all the recognised pitfalls of the era with the routing and weight, however the neck pocket and neck stability are very good which makes good the debate they got some right..and I would put up with all these issues for the tone alone. Arguably one of the most recognised and copied bass tones of the last decades has been Marcus Miller on a Fender late 70's J Bass.. so many boutique bass manufacturers emulate this era with this sound in mind. I also have a 1966 J Bass which is stunning. However I do strongly believe in the fashion of which the basses were and are still produced, there always has been a Fender lottery for build quality and sound.
  12.
Probably to buy another speaker cabinet for his rig; its just not tall enough yet!
?
  13.
Yes Indeed why you selling such a fantastice bass!
Hey Terry, How are you? I have a 1966 Jazz Bass that I always pick up over everything I own..it's a curse. The gig I had that lent itself to a five string bass has now changed so I find myself playing my Fender basses. With the exeption of recording with the Copollo recently it's just not getting an outing, It's such a beautiful bass it deserves to be played so I would rather sell it in pristine condition. I ordered the bass from Jimmy last year at the Namm Show and he is such a nice guy, very passionate about construction and tone of his instruments. He really deserves the accolades his instruments are now receiving. Hope your well. Mick
  14. For sale one Alleva Copollo LM5 Deluxe, ash body, maple neck with blocks and binding, AC single coils with Copollo two band eq. The bass was purchased in June 2009 from Alleva Copollo and is in brand new condition. A lightweight bass for this style of solid ash body instrument, I would take a guess at 9-9.5 pounds, fantastic sounding and playing bass. I will try to post better pictures but my daughter has decided to liberate my camera from my possession so more will follow, the bass is not quite as red as it looks in my picture must have been the lighting in the room so I have attached a more representative picture of the finish from Jimmy's website. So it's the Deluxe five not the four string for sale here. £2500.00
  15.
The pickups......did early Jazzes not have staggered pole-pieces? Si
No, not on my 1966....
  16. I've owned four Fodera's, all from new two from dealers in the US and two from Fodera directly. I have mixed opinions on the basses especially the price and waiting period argument, with custom orders as high as fifteen thousand dollars these days you have to be seriously hooked on one to validate that type of money. Also dealing with them as a company can be extremely frustrating PM me if anyone would like greater detail on this. My Emperor pictured below was built as a replacment to a Ying Yang Monarch that was returned to Fodera with a neck issue, and in fairness they built a stunning bass in it's place. It's also featured on their website on the Emperor page. Nice basses.
