1. Hanging around, Walk on by, Something better change 5 minutes........ But you can't beet that solo in Genetix. Dont really like much after The Raven..... However Ive got the Raven tattoed on my arm. The Stranglers and the Damned were the only British "punk" bands I liked. Though I would consider neither to be punk bands but rather they were happy to jump on the bandwagon.
2. Hello Chaps and Chapesses, I got one of those Sovtek Big Muff's a while ago (2007) .... I think it was something to do with Cliff Burton.... Dont know why, I'm not a fan particularly. Anyway the one I got is a souped up version. Firstly it's got a mains adaptor point...... looks like a typical Boss etc power in point. Next, it has a Whizzer Mod? Two switches which allow you to modify the tone. As I understand this was a modification that Dave Gilmore did to his Sovtek Mig Muff. There's some instructions with it re the modification. Anyway its in perfect Condition and I am thinking of selling it, mainly because distortion/fuzz isnt my thing....... I havent got a clue re price. I know that they go for over £70 + on evil bay. I've attached some pictures. Any ideas, also if you want it let me know.
3. The question is.... does this happen when you are practcing at home or in a band environment.... I ask because if it is in a group situation it may be a frequecy conflict with the guitar.... I have a Status Matrix (active P Pickup) which I used in a lot of previous bands and it sounded great... used it with my current band and had exactly the same problem..... The sound engineer pointed out the clash and I started to use a precision or my BC Rich and have had no problems since..... Sometimes its just different horses for different courses and ultimately blame the guitarist.
4. The Gibson Blackbird is the only signature bass I have ever bought.. I donmt even like Nicki Sixx or Motley crue. It looks as cool as ...... Dont particularly go for thunderbird sound... They are great for plec uswers tho. My vote would go to the Dirnt model.... I would love a white one with a black scratchplate and rose neck.
5. Could it be this strange looking beast..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpYyqaSYLyw&feature=related I used to be in a band (late 80's) with a lad who said that it was his uncle who played the flute on this track. He did not look Borat though!
6. Here's my US one.... I have has it for about 10 years..... I used it on the Cardinal Synne CD. I love this bass so much that I dont take it out but rather keep it locked up in a darkened room safely indoors... bit like the wife actually..
7. Cheers Chaps! I have had a thing about BC Rich on account of being a Sabbath fan..... Geezer had great sounds on Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules etc..... Then I saw Neil Murray from Whitesnake and Bob Daisley .... then Dave Ellefson using Mockingbirds.... Took Me till 2000 to get my 1st one..... . I tried Gibson Thunderbirds (still got a Blackbird) but there is no competition..... Ive got a Steve HArris Spec precision but like all precisions they often lack bottom end. On the Yank BC's you can get a full on clanky Steve Harris sound (with more bottom end) right through to a more solid tight Jazzy sound..... I also had a Bich at one point but it was a shorter scale and had horrid EMG pick ups........ The dream is to find an long scale American one..... Lorne thinks there was only about 12 ever built tho...... Well if Simon Cowell decides he likes Heavy Rock and offers me a Million pound contract... thats how I am going to spend it...
8. I bought this off Robocorpse a little while ago as I was looking for a backup for my US Mockingbird.... It seems to have done the rounds having previously belonged to thombassmonkey, stevied-fenderp2009 and rmshaw37 A canny bit of work done, 1 Refinished to get rid of missing chunks 2 Grover Titan Machine heads 3 2 x Dimarzio DP122 4 Wiring done for bass and treble boost (like on my US Mockingbird) 5 Headstock refinished with US style logo.... 6 Brass nut Will be putting a Gotoh bridge on sometime! I love it and will not be selling it!

11. I am sure that this chap used a Blackbird as well. That bass like Sixx's is based on the 60s/70s thunderbird as it has a very slim neck (as disliked by John Entwistle). He has also modified it the same way as my Blackbird 2 x Volume and no tone. Before I had my bass refinished I was thinking of having sprayed white, as I do love the look of white thunderbirds. I used to have a Alpine White Epiphone which in some ways I preferred as it had a thicker neck (it also had proper Gibson pickups retro fitted). But Its the Iron Crosses that really sold me on the Sixx model.
12. I think given the valuation I would be better of keeping it and making some use of it. To be fair I dont think the bass would appeal to Nicki Sixx fans only .... I bought it and I think Nicki Sixx is crap.
13. I got a Gibson Blackbird, I bought it cos it looks damn cool. The paintwork was crap, it was matt, but had worn to a horrible oily black. I got it professionally re finished Matt Black. I also added a volume control for each pickup. Whats the point in having two pick ups and not being able to blend them. Its got its original case (though the lock is knackered). The truth is I dont like the sound, I got an 82 US BC Rich Mockingbird and a Precision and I prefer their sound. I play with my fingers and just cant seem to get the clunking attack from the Blackbird. Its got growl but think it is best suited to plec players. Anyway its a beautiful looking bass and some people love the sound. If I were rich I would keep it, but sadly I am skint. I cant find any others up for sale,,,, Any ideas re price? I would upload a pic but the only one I got fails as it says the file is too big

15.
The wife bit, I know the feeling! Good luck! Karl.
Well I have aquired a VBC 412 so this is cash only....... Come and get it..... it will make you appear more attractive to the opposite sex.... and by having some cash, I will become more attractive to my wife......
16.
only one 4x10 left..... I will let it go for £150
Come on whats your best offer! its just taking up space now!
17.
A wee bump for a sweet bass1! And a question are the Korean sh*te brown T-birds much better than their Chinese cousins??
Why thank you kind sir! You are clearly a gentleman of taste and sophistication! I presume that they are..... I can only imagine that they moved production to China cos its cheaper! Please that although some of the trades offered are very desirable.... I really dont need any more basses. The only thing I need is a Marshall VBC 412 cab! Otherwise I ( my wife) needs the cash!
18. Well, apparently white t birds are made in Epiphone's custom shop in Korea rather than in China. Consequently the materials and labour of a far higher standard than there usual stuff. There were only 500 made and as such are sought after. A bass chatter told me that their's went for £500 on ebay as did another. I was going to sell for £275 and was I told not to be daft (not in those words) as mine has been fitted with genuine Gibson T Bird pickups (which cost over £100}. None the less I would say that the value of any guitar is determined by what the buyer is prepared to pay. So if someone offers me £300 its theirs, if not its going on ebay on Sunday with a reserve of £350. I have to say its a great bass, but Ive got 5 basses at the moment and I want another Marshall VBA 412 or the money to pay the wife off.
19. I will let this go for £300 as my wife wants the money!
