Good lord, is that Tony Goggle? He's been borderline reclusive for years. @skankdelvar, what do you reckon?
Who he?

Ha ha. Damn. I saw there were two replies to the thread and thought someone had cracked it.
Lots of people were asking to have their photo taken with him apparently.

(possibly) Tim Finn
Mmm. I can’t help thinking I’ve seen him somewhere before, but I’m not sure it’s Tim.

Here are the rules as laid down by @skankdelvar:
....the BassChat approved method of generating one's stage name is:
(A seaside resort visited in one's childhood) + (The name of the last establishment where you bought a hot beverage whether as a standalone or as the culmination of a tasty meal)
Ergo, I am known to my public as Torremolinos Starbucks.
P.S. Please ignore the first couple of pages of waffle about trying to identify the guy at a Fleetwood Mac gig. It hardly seems important now. In fact, I don't think it ever was 😂
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nothing sinister, just asking for a curious friend.
Who is the chap with the blue jacket and VIP laminate in front of the stage facing to his left?
The annual charity event that is The Last Resort returns to The Mill, Rayleigh, Essex this November.
(The Last Resort is actually an umbrella name for musicians from various Essex bands who are dedicated to this charitable cause)
We are once again raising money for The Lords Taverner's who do some fantastic work supporting disabled and disadvantaged children.
Our last show raised nearly £3,000 which was used to purchase sports wheelchairs for the Harlow Hurricanes.
This event takes a phenomenal amount of time and effort to arrange and rehearse and is always well attended.
This years theme is Tribute Bands.
Tickets are available here.
More than Bowie's version
Far more than Duran Duran's version....
Thank you very much. Very kind of you to say.
Although it didn't get selected, Radiohead's song for Spectre is utterly spellbinding.
To be honest, anything would have been better than the one that was used 🙄.
By far, and by some considerable margin, the worst offering as far as I'm concerned. SS said it was written in one session - 10 minutes probably and it sounds like it.
I have always thought that there is a high correlation between the quality of Bond theme songs and the quality of the film. Anyone else?
I’ve never really thought of it that way and now you’ve suggested it, trying to work it out makes my head hurt 😂.
Given that Roger Moore is not my favourite Bond and he had some cracking themes throughout his tenure, I’m inclined not to go with it. It’s all very subjective though isn’t it and just a bit of fun really, much like the films themselves.
Yep, epic!!
Narada Michael Warden co-wrote the tune and it was Orchestrated by Michael Kamen with Jerry Hey on Trumpet!!
Gladys Night just absolutely nails the whole thing. Everything about the 80's music is in there.
Although it's based on the Brass line theme from Goldfinger, it's still probably one of my favourites along with John Barry's OHMSS theme.
Furthermore, I notice that the version on the 'Best of Bond - 50 Years' is over a minute shorter than the version on the 30th Anniversary Edition.
How the hell have they managed to cut over a minute out of such a great tune?
License to Kill - Gladys Knight. Epic!
That brass fanfare! One of the best hooks of them all IMHO.
Having performed a number of Bond themes (main theme tune, Nobody Does It Better, Skyfall, We Have All The Time In The World), I love Bond tunes and my favourite varies with my mood. Fav slow one is "You Only Live Twice" and fav fast one is "Man With The Golden Gun".
I would love to be able to perform "Man With The Golden Gun" but the intro is exceedingly difficult for the trumpet players - its a Bm9 chord, so that means someone has to squeak out a D# (C# on concert pitch) in the altissimo register, and with the required punchy rhythm. So that's on hold, indefinitely.
"We Have All The Time In The World" is exceedingly boring to play, and is make-or-break depending on the quality of the male lead singer.
"Nobody Does It Better" kinda needs the piano at the start but once that's sorted, is a brilliant song which is quite approachable too.
I had the opportunity to cover Diamonds Are Forever a few years ago with the kind of lead vocal and band that could definitely do it justice and it was a wonderful experience.
Ditto your thoughts on You Only Live Twice. That intro gets me every time.
This is like voting for a EuroMP. None of them. Where's the box for that then ?
If you don’t have a favourite, you can’t vote. Which is kind of the point really 😀
I think , A view to a kill , is the one for me, the song really suits a bond film 🙂
Top man 👍.
As I was typing that list out, I did wonder how many would go for some of the mid-period title tunes.
Prompted by a recent re-watch of Quantum of Solace at the start of which Mrs.H remarked what utter garbage she thought the Another Way to Die was, I thought this might be a bit of fun.
So, regarding the title music only (not the film, the Bond, the girls etc etc), what's your fave?
What a show! Really enjoyed it as did my friend who only owns Hot Rats.
Thunderous sound coming from Mr.Thunes’ P bass. Would like to have had a look at his pedal board and signal path to see what dark magic was lurking there.
Due to unforeseen circumstances I’ve had two people pull out of a trip to London tonight to see The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa at The Palladium.
I’ll be in London quite early if you want to meet up to get the tickets. They’re in Row H of the stalls, so quite good IMHO.
Face price including booking fee works out to just over £63 each.
Would rather they were used so prepared to take a hit on them.
PM me if interested.
I have eight basses - each one is different in its own way, as soon as I think I haven't played this one for a while - perhaps I'll move it on, I pick it up and I'm right where I was when I bought it.
So the cycle continues....😂
I've actually met him a couple of times - In London with FZ and with Dweezil and Ahmet's band 'Z' in the early 90's - he's a legend.
Hopefully I'll get the chance tomorrow.
Basschat Stage Name Generator (oh and by the way, does anyone recognise this chap??
....and it hasn’t escaped my attention that you’ve tagged @skankdelvar in to come up with some convoluted and entirely fictitious backstory to a name you have invented 😂😂😂😂.
I have no doubt it will be worth the read though 👍
