  1. I have one of the Ibby EHB sixes and I agree with the OP - I'd go back to normal frets or a less severe fan/offset so straight at the 12th fret (rather than around the 7th where it is currently.)

Many different ways to fan and each is a compromise - as are straight frets. Up high on the Ibby it's a little more difficult to play than a straight fret instrument.

What do you want to know about the divider/mixer? You can only add one to the signal chain, but it can be configured as A/B or parallel paths, which can also be split by frequency. You can also output the paths to left/right if you want two distinct signal chains.

That's what I wanted to know about Div/Mix thank you. Next question is, 'Does the GX-10 have the same Div/Mix options as its big brother GX-100?'

  3. Yes, I've been enjoying the 'Enigmatic' videos by Dumble-hungry guitarists. It's market forces and the numbers of bass players. Not sure any bass amps are as iconic as the 5150s and Twin Reverbs, etc of this world. Probably not enough demand for dedicated amp pedals but maybe a bass version with a range of IRs?

£249?Just for a splitter/crossover. If the OP is prepared to spend that kind of money on a single device they might as well get a Helix Floor.

You're quite right but I enjoy researching new pedals. I'll add another crossover but this has individual compressors for each path: https://reverb.com/uk/item/81597731-pjb-phil-jones-bass-x2c-dual-band-compressor-crossover

  5. BC'ers,

Hankering to try signal splitting ah la Squire, Sheehan and others to combine clean and dirt signals or paths with different compression and effects.

I know the top-end multi-FX can split their signals for separate effects processing before recombining them but I wondered if any of you have had success doing this with any of the new budget units appearing?

(I know the Boss LS2 is always an option but a) I don't have all the pedals I'd need and b) I'd like to try splitting the signal by frequency as opposed to having two 'full-range' signals if possible.)

    Thoughts? Experiences?

Hey folks, just thought I'd mention here in case any of you Ibanez fans are interested, I'm selling my GAXB150. Pretty rare, only made for a few years, 32" scale and a DX4 humbucker. The quality of these far exceeded their modest price! Beautiful rosewood fretboard.

All in all, the entire design appears to be well thought out - function over form.

'Form ever follows function'! These are great, handy basses whose tone belies their compact size and weight. I have the 6-er and it's great.

The multi-scale helps even the tone and tension of the strings but I have to say, other than around the 5-8 frets, I find it disorientating, particularly in the upper registers when the multi-scale gets extreme.

This negative effect can be greatly reduced with good practise in not looking at the fretboard when playing. That said, I'm not entirely sure I'd have a bass with it again unless they did a less extreme multi-scale, say, like their 'Q' series guitars.
