  1. Because, as I said upthread, these parts of strings are not intended to be part of the 'speaking' length of the string.
  2. Does it? Pianos don't seem to have problems with that idea...
  3. Not had any time to play with it yet, still technically convalescing from 3 shoulder surgeries. Might even just pot it in Araldite!
  4. Just been given this: But it has a problem But I'm sure I can do something with it, convert it to a bodypack, maybe? And it insists its latency is 5ms...
  5. See no obvious reason why it should, to be honest...
  6. Off the top of my head, I would have thought most, if not all of the claims made could be addressed simply by using core-contact/taperwound strings, as in a piano. No need for a special bridge then.
  7. More pics: All good apart from these marks. Cracks are laquer/paint only.
  8. As per the title. Modified post to new requirements! It's this one: As with most BBs, not a light bass, around 9.5lb, but sounds great, very hot pickups. Currently wearing a nicely run-in set of ECB-81 Chromes.
  9. Exactly, those bits are NOT designed to be part of the speaking length.
  10. Un-Withdrawn - dep work abandoned due to spontaneous stress fracture in right shoulder... 500 for quick sale, but it is absolutely collection only. I cannot drive for the forseeable, so no chance of a meet. 300 for combo, 200 for cab. 450 if you take thew rig! Trade: Barefaced One10 with cover plus cash. At this price, it's surely worth the drive, no?
  11. Build your own. I have a Mexican body and bridge, pretty much identical to a 70s bass. Because I also became enamoured of slimmer-than-usual Jazz necks, I bought an American Special Jazz neck in maple. Add suitable tuners, pickup to taste etc.
  12. Tavistock. Unfortunately, the surgery has gone wrong, up to and including a remote possibility of not plyaing again...
  13. I'd really like this to be my first bash, but the recent op means I can't drive, and possibly only barely play. I think it's a non-starter... 😭
  14. Surgery done, very awkward typing this one-handed with my left hand. Now just the joy of waiting for the nerve block to wear off..
  15. My triggers broom is a 2003 MIM P-bass, and the only original parts left are the body, bridge, and knobs.
