1. I bought this for a project which never got off the ground, and it is now surplus. Previous to me, only used in a home studio environment. Everything works, with the only downside being the ubiquitous flickery gooseneck light. I've yet to see one on any mixer that doesn't flicker - a BNC connector is the worst possible for current carrying duties... Comes with a copied Manual. 2. Some items which may be of interest. Red Sparkle Precision-style pickguard. Not sure how accurate a fit this would be, but definitely a different look... £15 posted. Axl neck, with hardware. Fits in the same slot as the neck on the Plexi P, so accurate fender size. £35 posted. 3. Well, I'll be sorry to see this go, but the new Mustang means I must move stuff on, and this rates as 'last in, first out'. Will part out if anyone wants the body/pickguard. I'll keep the rest for a new build. Here's the build thread by Andy Travis. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1843371 It has a standard BBOT instead of the Badass, otherwise unchanged. Not a lightweight bass! I'll include the Slinger strap I imported from the States, as I won't be using it on anything else. Prefer collection, but will arrange courier if need be. 4. Now that I have the Super 15, this surplus to requirements. I put this together using an old Behringer BX1200 cabinet and a brand new B&C 12HPL64 driver, which is the same as is in my Markbass CMD121H. markbass rate these at 400W, B&C appear to say 200W. My experience with this and the Markbass stuff leans toward the 400W - I've driven it and the combo pretty hard at times, and it's never done anything but push out the bass! It is fitted with a Speakon/jack combo socket, so usable in most situations. Would prefer collection. I'm in West Devon. Reduced to £60! 5. All sorted now, as far as I know.
6. No choice. Can't see anything without my specs!
7. I'm jealous of your Bassman 70. I'd love a 50/70/100, especially as they'd be quite usable with this very sensitive cab!
8. Do you depend on others to get you to gigs? If so, why? I'm not talking about sharing for economy here.
9.
I always take my own gear. Why spend God knows how much time and money getting the kit you want and then not use it? Rehearsal gear takes a right old battering in any case and is generally pants. If you're happy to use a shonky rig at rehearsal, why did you buy decent gear?
This.
10. Handling: I've always wanted a 2x15, but having no lower spine to speak of, I could never see a way to achieve it. Well, that cab is here. While bulkier than either piece of my old rig, the total weight of the new rig is nearly 25lbs lighter! Easy to carry, with tilt-back wheels for the smooth bits. Sounds: Big, very big! Guitarist was somewhat overawed by the commanding tone! I will need to tweak eq here and there as I get familiar with it and it loosens up a bit, but basically, this is easily the best-sounding cab my meagre talent has ever been expressed through!
11. And my gig? Launceston Rugby Club final match of the season. They won, too, or at least there was a great deal of celebration of one sort or another going on! So crowded, we had no space to set up! Got going just before 8 and away it all went. A blast! And the new Barefaced Super 15? Bloody amazing!
12.
Yey, I can officially post to this thread (well technically I should wait until past midnight but I'm sure you'll forgive me in my excitement) So dear bass chatters, today, 10 and a half months after picking up a bass, I have performed infront of a real life audience!!! With our charity gigs looming, we decided to try out some of our set at a local jam night! We were told we would be able to do 2 or 3 numbers.... But when we were up there they asked us to do a fourth I was shaking like a leaf!! I can't believe how nervous I was. The first song started, and because they provide the back line I couldn't hear myself, so I had to step forward infront of the PA speaker to hear my bass!! We performed "Mercury Blues", "Badge", "Can't get enough of your love" and "Need your love so bad". Several people came on to me afterwards to compliment my bass playing!! I have recorded the tracks (thanks Discreet for the Zoom recorder recommendation) and so will listen to them tomorrow to analyse where I can improve on my playing. I probably sounded sh*t with shaking fingers!!! But right now I am on cloud nine!!! It was bloody fantastic to perform!!! Hee hee, I'm actually a proper real life bassist now!!!! I was wearing a t-shirt saying "Yes, I'm a girl... Yes, I play bass... Any more questions?" and a guy came up to me and said "I have a few questions, can I have your number and can I take you on a date?" I laughed, then he said "I'm being serious, you are beautiful and you are brilliant on the bass"!!! I politely declined saying how sweet it was of him, but I'm a very happily married woman.... But it's given me a real confidence boost!! I'm a happy bassist tonight!!
Congrats! The more so for making a big impression right from the start. Doesn't get a lot better than that!
13. I did it anyway...my room door nearly fell off! Keeps the place ventilated, too...
14. I've not done the sinewave on the S15, because I think the house would fall down! Tomorrow's gig should get the process well under way. Really looking forward to that!
15. I find I get too hot with a hat on. Annoying, because I like hats...
16. *Awaits pic with child-like impatience*
17. It's a great guitar, but it's just sitting here. Someone could make really good use of it!
18. Price: £325 delivered. Includes an externally marked but otherwise sound deluxe tweed case. These have Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups as standard. Jack socket has been upgraded to an Electrosocket. Currently set up with EB 10s. Now considering trades - P with J neck, Yamaha BB424, W.H.Y?
19. The neck is an Allparts replacement. It's a MIM Standard from 2003/4, but the original neck went bad, big time. This neck came up on here, all but unused, and it's a real treat to play!
20. Some of it, for sure!
21. And here it is, all safe, and sounding awesome!
