This is Not a Love Song - public image ltd

I was wondering about the great [b]PIL[/b] bass line in [i]This is Not a Love Song[/i].(just the main riff) i have found two different tabs, neither of which sounds right when I play it. the second one sounds nearest, but still not right. I get nearer when i try this: D. F / D. E. / E. A
(All on the [i]A [/i]string, ending with the end [i]A[/i] note on the [i]E[/i] string.) or F/F/F/F E/E A [on the A string.]

thats still wrong though, any help please,

ps: i know tabs suck and i'd take sheet music for this instead if i could find any.?

pps: dont spose anyone has one of those handy [i]bass only [/i] versions on their computer?

Great song, absolutely love it.

Maybe wrong, but when I`ve played it, I had it as, for the chorus:

F, E, A(high)
A(low) B, B, C, C, D, D

pretty much the same as me - with octave skipping on the run up - B B octave C C octave etc.

and stick a few flourishes on the way home.


and plus the on one a great song.

It's good, but I think Rise has the most incredible PIL bassline. One of my favourite songs of all time!

I love that song and the bass line for death disco is aweson to.

Those notes sound spot on for this is not a love song but i use the a and d string

or something like that. that's how it sounds to me. I'm always on the lok out for a PIL sheet music book if one exists.

Was watching them do this on Youtube the other night - very under-rated band, and that incarnation were as tight as anything.
