Small Ampeg rigs - compare & contrast

Folks

I'm on the look out for an affordable Ampeg set up - relatively speaking anyway! £500 - £600 mark. There are some very different small Ampeg rigs for sale through BC at the moment and my question is whether it's the done thing to get you guys to give your thoughts on the merits of each set up. Don't want to offend the sellers obviously!!

If this is a go-er I can edit this thread with some details of the set ups to invite your thoughts!

Cheers everyone

Ian

I'm playing a gig tomorrow with a 50W B50R Rocket Bass Amp. That's about as small an ampeg as there is.

However, I've removed the "amp" from the combo and it's plugged into a 1KW CA Audio poweramp and a Schroeder 1212L.

Still small like. But bloody loud :)
yeah I seen a wicked B5R head and 4x10hlf cab going for 600quid, its a 350watt rig but add another 4 ohme cab and you get a 500watt rig. Im no expert, however seems a good deal to me :)
Oh yeah I've seen that one

I'm just wondering if a Micro VR rig might be an alternative - obviously more portable but my concern is whether it would have the same oomph and air movement of a 4x10hlf?

it all comes down to what kinda gigs you do and what kind of portability your after I guess. The 4x10 will certainly push more air and the the B5R head will give loads of headroom. it all depends on what you need.
