Both basses are now sold, pending payment. Could have sold them 3 times over - I knew i should have asked for more :)

Hi all

Couple for sale in an attempt to raise funds for a vintage P bass....

First up is a 2007 Lakland Duck Dunn (Skyline). I'd been after one for ages, figuring that it'd be my perfect bass; the combination of P bass tone and Jazz neck would be absolutely perfect. However, after owning it for 2 weeks, I've come to the conclusion that I actually prefer my Bob Glaub - go figure! This is immaculate, not a scratch on it, and comes with the Levys Lakland padded bag. It plays like a dream, and sounds just like you'd expect it to (there's a load of sound clips on Lakland's website here.). I've just put a set of new D'Addario chrome flats on it for that typical Duck Dunn sound. This one has the Hanson pickups, and is fitted with black Dunlop locking strap nuts on - I'll include the strap parts with the bass.

I got it for a good price, but I'm not looking to make any money on it - just to recoup what I spent, so it's up for £630 plus the actual cost of shipping. You can come and collect it from near to j.12 of the M40, or I might be able to meet up, depending on location. Hell, this might even become a collector's item since the Lakland takeover / sale

Second up is a CIJ Japan-only '62 Precision Re-Issue. It's a 2002 model in Jamerson colours, and I've recently fitted a vintage thumb rest to complete the look. I've recently had this professionally setup to a medium action, and have also put D'Addario chrome flats on this one, too, so it's got that typical Motown sound to it. It's got a few dinks on it, and I've deliberately photographed these in detail to show them off. They're on the back edge of the bass (about in line with the jack socket) so they're not noticeable from the front, but I wanted highlight them anyway. Having owned this bass and also the £1500 American '62 Re-Issue, I can tell you that there's not a massive amount of difference between the two I've owned (apart from the price!). You can see why Fender kept these for Japanese markets only!

I've only had this for a month, and again it's suffering from underuse due to my current Bob Glaub love-in (does that sound wrong?!?). Again, I got this for a decent price, but I'm just looking to recover my money on it. Bearing in mind that I just spent £65 on a pro setup and new set of flats, I'm looking for £450 for this, plus actual cost of shipping. Again, you can come and collect it from near to j.12 of the M40, or I might be able to meet up, depending on location.

Any questions, fire away. I'm flying to Germany later on today for a meeting, so may be offline until late tonight, but will respond to any questions then.

Cheers

Yep, Marks a great guy to deal with and a thoroughly decent bloke.

I'd love a Duck Dunn but just cant afford it lol.

Good luck.

Hi there, I am very interested in the Lakland, especially if it has a nice low action.
Mark! Goodness you are the bass owning equivalent of Perter Stringfellow. Just hang on to one for a bit and develop a deeper relationship will you?
Is that three or four of mine you've had now?

:)
Si, it's like a disease. Just when i think I'm sorted, something else comes along, and since my strict 3-basses-only rule rapidly became a not-so-strict-7-basses-rule, i figured i needed to thin some out

Anyway, the next one that I've got my eye on will definitely, honestly, really be the last one i buy for a while. Possibly. Ahem.

Oh, a good week or so at current rates.

Anyway, both are now sold. I've now sold 3 to raise the money for the next incoming... If this one comes off, expect lots of pics in the Gear Porn forum
