Description:

This is a the bass guitar of one of the most famous and talented bass player of all time, know for his extraordinary slap skills. With his brother George Johnson, they was one of the best funk band in 70's "The Brothers Johnson", with many funk classics. Louis Johnson worked with many famous artist like George Duke, George Benson or Quincy Jones for whom he was his studio musician. That's why Louis Johnson worked on 3 of Michael Jackson's greatest albums (Dangerous, Off The Wall, Thriller). It's to Louis Johnson that we owe the famous bass line of one of the greatest hit of Michael Jackson "Billie Jean".

This Bass guitar was made by prestigious stringed-instrument makers (Performance Guitar), which made instruments for the biggest artists ( Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Warren De Martini, Tom Morello, Ritchie Kotzen, Johney Graham, Albert Lee...). This is a signature model, made in agreement with Louis "Thunder Thump" Johnson, and according to his technical characteristics. It's the unique model in world, and certain elements were added with regard to the basic model (Neck reverse; Tobacco Burst finish; Bartolini Jazz pickup on neck; John East Preamp).

Welcome aboard!

That is one beautiful bass, I love it when I come across new basses I've never heard of before.

I used to have the 'Starlicks' Louis Johnson tuition video which I played til it fell apart. Love that Man!

Also Joined that Onlybass forum (wish I could speak Frence though) but I can always just look at the photos.

No i don't Know, but i already haved a Fender JB and the Louis Johnson is not heavier.

But If you want, maybe i can weight it :)

That would be really useful if it's not a hassle.

The older I get the more I seem to need lighter weight basses :)

Some people interested in my announcement have to asked me what was the price new of this instrument. To answer in your question i re-edited the description of my instrument, and talked about the price new. There's also the address of the site of Performance Guitars, so you can ask directly to them your question about the price of a Louis Johnson Bass, or something else.
