Stu Hamm Signature Urge Bass

***SEE EDIT BELOW***
Hi. Yet another one to go. **(Also selling Westone Rail Bass)**
This nearly went to someone on Basschat, last year but it never quite got off the ground.
Quite rare, I have only ever seen two others of this model.
This is the Stu Hamm Urge MEDIUM scale, not like the later 34"
It has stacked controls, giving a lot of variations, a very nice neck
with a good action on it. Speedy to play, very light.
Jazz pick-ups, which are pretty good - not Lindy Fralin or Seymour Duncan but will
hold their own against most.
New strings and a wipe down, last year - only really played it an hour or so, since.
VERY GOOD condition, considering it is now 17 years old.
If anyone is interested, let me know.
I'm looking for £265.00, delivered to most parts of the UK.

EDIT
OK, long story cut short.
Now I have put this up for sale, several people (locals) have said how cheap it was and
questioned if I was mad!!
I bought this just over two years ago, as I had injured my left hand and found short
and medium easier to get on with. As I had a couple of other short/medium I played it
when I felt like a change. Always gigged with a long scale but was painful.
I never thought this was "Stunning" just very good.
Took the pics to post it, didn't even plug it in!
Had quite a bit of interest (sorry to those I have got excited) so plugged it in at rehaersal,
last night - DEAD! :) OUCH!!!

Opened up the back - never been in there before - battery had best before 2003 on it.
It would seem that I have never heard it in all it's glory.
Pinched the battery out of my radio gear, plugged it in WOW!!
Errrm, I don't think I want to let it go just yet.
Really really sorry, I did not intend to tease.
Let me hang onto it for a bit longer and enjoy it for what it now is and we'll see how I feel
in a few months.

**Westone Rail "is" still up for sale**
If no takers, I shall use it to clear the snow off the drive!!

I used to have one of these that I bought from a forum member! Initially the Stuart Hamm name hooked me (since I'm a huge Hamm fan and even bought a 1989 Kubicki Ex-Factor!) but the fact it was a 32" scale jazz bass was nice too.

However, it played pretty well and man, was it light and comfortable, but I was struggling to get it to sound really good. However, every bass is different and if you're looking for a light stage bass or a jazz bass for long nights in the studio then this is a great choice!

No worries!

I have 2 of the Urge MK1s, a standard and "real" one - both 32" necks and can confirm they really are cracking basses. Definitely in league with the 32" Kubicki Ex-Factor (which I also have 2 of!).

For future, I reckon £265 is a bit too low mate, see how much it's worth to you after you've played around with it - mine is priceless! :)

Happy strumming pal

I thought it looked very cheap... had me a bit worried about the value of my urge2!
Which by the way was about 1800 euros when I bought it new a couple of years ago, so if you were only looking for £265 I would have made a very silly purchase indeed!
Just out of interest - is this one of the MIM models?

I get a bit lost with the various versions of the Urge that Fender have released, lol.
Yes, this is the MIM model with the poplar body and rosewood fretboard. You can always spot the "true" Urge basses because they have the Precision pickup as well as the two jazz bars!

OOeer, opened up a bit of a hornets nest. Sorry.
The one you have must be the USA one, two J and one P in the middle.
That is a different animal - don't panic, yours would be worth way more!
As posted by someone else, this one is made in Mexico, it is a '93/'94 and as
I have now found out, quite a nice sounding bass - with a new battery!! :)
I bought it off the first owner, pre-loved or Gumtree and I'm quite sure that
I paid around £250 for it - must have got a real bargain so was happy to get
the "do ray me" back.
I have been PM'd saying they fetch as much as £370, which at the moment
is not the issue - I just hadn't realised it's potential and now fancy hanging
on to it for a bit longer.
I think rather than getting into trouble hijacking the For Sale area, I will try
and get some better pics, post it in Gear Porn and let you know how I am
getting on with it, and posts can be put there, so no more posts here, please.
Thank you.
Cheers.
