Umm, not enough Sly here :)

Let's remedy that:

And this one as much for the costumes as anything else :)

A bit lost in this delightful, long thread so hope none of these has been posted yet...trust on your understanding :)

the video is not very inspiring, but imagine AWB paying tribute to Maceo...how cool is that?

Mid-tempo funkiness by the Temptations

Dance music the way it should be done...with killer funk guitar and a cool bassline

Great tracks. That AWB is amazing...highly recommended.

The Temptation track is pure early Commodores-style.

Never heard the last track before. Great bass part.

Sorry, what I meant to say is the AWB album that features that track is well worth buying. Amazing album...not a bum track on it.

some more AWB - these guys are the real deal - the guitar work is terrific
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85CswGxKGqk

an hidden gem (for me at least) straight from a JB disciple
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_f6EBeazfQ

another recent discovery - a 90s band that played righeous jams

I've guiltly overlooked Kool and his gang - simple bassline, but great brass action and tons of groove

As you should have realized by now I'm a little Maceo obsessed - a true legend with Midas touch - whatever he touches is gotta be funky
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4mUeG1LVUA

Never enough Meters - Nocentelli scratches the hell out of his six-strings
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcExxrf9zl4

Something more soulful, in a mellow mid-tempo - the lady's still got it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMME87Iv1Go

that's more mainstream than most stuff here, I know but thewell-seasoned groove of Kool's boys is undeniable
